1-7 Distributive Property : 

We will begin multiplying monomials by binomials. In order to do so, we must utilize the DISTRIBUTIVE PROPERTY. This states: a(b + c) = 99% of the time, after distributing, you will have to COMBINE LIKE TERMS. Like Term—Any term that has the EXACT same variable and exponent. 1-7 Distributive Property ab + ac

Multiply using the distributive property and simplify by combining like terms. Ex. 1. -3(x + 2) + 5x -3x – 6 + 5x 2x – 6 1-7 Distributive Property Ex. 2. 5(2x + 5) – 3x + 2 10x + 25 – 3x + 2 7x + 27
