1-7 Distributive Property :We will begin multiplying monomials by binomials.
In order to do so, we must utilize the DISTRIBUTIVE PROPERTY.
This states:

99% of the time, after distributing, you will have to COMBINE LIKE TERMS.

1-7 Distributive Property :Multiply using the distributive property and simplify by combining like terms.
Ex. 1. -3(x + 2) + 5x
-3x – 6 + 5x
2x – 6 1-7 Distributive Property Ex. 2. 5(2x + 5) – 3x + 2
10x + 25 – 3x + 2
7x + 27
1-7 Distributive Property :Multiply using the distributive property and simplify by combining like terms.
Ex. 3. 4(2x – 5) – 3(3x – 4)
8x – 20 – 9x + 12
-x – 8 1-7 Distributive Property Ex. 4. -7(-3m + 4) – (8m – 5)
