1-3Integers & Absolute Value : 

1-3Integers & Absolute Value Integer—Any positive or negative WHOLE number. NO DECIMALS! NO FRACTIONS! Absolute Value—The DISTANCE from any number to zero on the number line. This value is ALWAYS POSITIVE!! Why? Because absolute value is a distance. Distances are positive! Think about it……. An odometer on a car begins at zero…never negative. In track, there is no such thing as the negative one mile run. Even if you walk backward 3ft. and measure from beginning to ending point, the yard stick will measure 3ft, not -3ft!

Ex. 1. Find each absolute value. a. 1-3Integers & Absolute Value 2 Because -2 is 2 units away from zero! b. 5 Because 5 is 5 units away from zero! 0 Because 0 is 0 units away from zero! c.
