[ Human Flourishing ] is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence. Aristotle

PowerPoint Presentation:

People who have meaning and purpose in their lives are happier, feel more in control and get more out of what they do. They also experience less stress, anxiety and depression. But where do we find 'meaning and purpose'? It might be our religious faith, being a parent or doing a job that makes a difference. The answers vary for each of us but they all involve being connected to something bigger than ourselves.

PowerPoint Presentation:

The words of the Teacher, son of David, king in Jerusalem: "Meaningless! Meaningless !" says the Teacher. " Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless ." What does man gain from all his labor at which he toils under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever. The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises. The wind blows to the south and turns to the north; round and round it goes, ever returning on its course. All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full. To the place the streams come from, there they return again. All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing. What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which one can say, " Look! This is something new"? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time. There is no remembrance of men of old, and even those who are yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow. Ecclesiastees 1:1-11

PowerPoint Presentation:

Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. . Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

Therefore Jesus said again, " I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:7-10

"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me - just as the Father knows me and I know the Father--and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life--only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.

You are so valuable that Jesus became our protector, taking the punishment so we could have the best possible life – today and eternally!

PowerPoint Presentation:

It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4 THE NETWORK COURSE ( Willow Creek ): Discover your spiritual gifts, personal style, and God-given passion for serving in the body of Christ

PowerPoint Presentation:

So what should this mean to me in the week ahead? Life will suck sometimes , but in the end you will be rewarded for the good and held account for the bad . ybh: the judgement IS something we should worry about, but not be terrified about, because we have Jesus on our side. The promise of a life that can be lived to the full is incredibly expensive , it is way too costly for us! ybh: This great cost is willingly paid for by Jesus, who is sent by the Father and endorses salvation through the Holy Spirit. As some one who believes you are no longer on the outside looking in , but are actually a part of the body! ybh: bodies only consume themselves in extreme situations, healthy bodies WORK together for the greater good !
