Slide 1:

yesterday, today, and tomorrow

E-Learning: Yesterday :

E-Learning: Yesterday In the old days we basically made our best attempt to “electronicize” the notes of an instructor, lecturer, or teacher. In essence, early e-learning programs were developed to replicate the autocratic teaching style whereby knowledge was transferred from the trainer to the student. An expert stood at the front of the classroom and pontificated about their sphere of knowledge.

Slide 6:

What’s wrong with my e-learning course? It’s just not cool, Steve. People expect more these days.

Slide 8:

Great. Another boring online training course. It’s compliance training time again, and Louise looks forward to another opportunity to shine.

Slide 9:

I hate these things!

Slide 10:

Hey, this one’s pretty good. Louise is enjoying this e-learning course…but why?

Slide 11:

Click me for more info! No click me! C’mon. You know you want to.

Slide 12:

Watch me! I’m much more interesting than plain old text. Plus, I’ll give you the controls. Now, I’d like to know what you’re thinking. Don’t worry. There’s no right or wrong answer.

Slide 14:

Yeah, that’s great. But you know that we don’t have the budget for all that. No problem, Miguel. There are lots of free resources and tools. You just have to know where to look.
