Edit Comment Close Premium member Presentation Transcript A day in the life of an Australian school student in 2KJ and 2KM : A day in the life of an Australian school student in 2KJ and 2KM Slide 2: 7.30am Mum or Dad wakes me up. I get dressed in my school uniform. I eat toast or cereal for breakfast and then brush my teeth. Sometimes I go onto my computer to check my class blog. If it’s a nice day I walk to school with my mum. Slide 3: 9.00am The school bell rings and my teacher greets my class and lets us in the classroom. We do the roll and begin the day with Reading Groups. We do activities on the interactive whiteboard, iPods and computers. We also do Maths and use materials like dice, counting charts and calculators. Slide 4: 11.00am We have snack (or recess). I usually eat a piece of fruit and some biscuits. Sometimes I have a treat like chocolate or a lolly. I play outside with my friends. We have a courtyard, a sand pit, playground and a big oval to run around. Slide 5: 11.30am The bell rings and we go back inside our classroom. We have two more hours of activities. We do writing and integrated studies. Sometimes we have a specialist subject like Sport, Music, Art or Indonesian. Slide 6: 1.30pm We eat our lunch inside our classroom for ten minutes and then we go outside to play. I usually have a sandwich, a bag of chips and a piece of fruit. Sometimes I order my lunch from the school canteen. Slide 7: 3.30pm After one more hour of activities in our classroom, the bell rings for home time. My mum usually picks me up or sometimes I go home with a friend. I have an afternoon snack when I get home. Some days after school I have swimming lessons or netball practise. Other days I relax and watch TV. Slide 8: 6.00pm My mum cooks dinner and I eat tea with my family at the dinner table. We have meals like a roast, chicken and salad, meat and vegetables, spaghetti, lasagne or pizza. We usually have fruit salad, jelly or ice cream for dessert. Slide 9: 7.00pm I have a shower or a bath and put on my pyjamas. I watch TV or sometimes I go onto the computer and leave a comment on a blog. If I’m allowed, I use my Play Station or D.S. Slide 10: 8.00pm I read my reader or another book to Mum or Dad and then I go to bed. Slide 11: How is your school day similar to ours? How is your school day different to ours?
