Slide2: Moodle is a content management system (Virtual Learning Environment – VLE) that complements lessons taught in a virtual classroom by providing anytime, anywhere access to resources, quizzes, homework, videos, discussion boards and chat rooms. Tutor can also collect, mark and return work to students if appropriate. Moodle Slide3: LearnLinc is a virtual classroom product that enables learners to take part in real-time lessons from any computer with internet access, providing the convenience of access from any location with many of the features of a face-to-face lesson. This software is currently used in the DLC lessons. LearnLinc Slide4: Breeze is an online meeting room and training system, provided by Macromedia, that enables learners to take part in real-time meetings from any computer with internet access, combining video, audio and collaborative tools in an exciting way. This software is quite new and may be more suitable than LearnLinc for online training. Breeze Slide5: Video Conferencing Video conferencing software enables one-to-one training where webcams are used to enable the trainer and learner to see and talk to each other in real time as well as share and work on the same files and documents (application sharing). Slide6: Screen capture software can be used to record an activity on a tutor’s computer screen for replaying back by an online learner in their own time. Screen Capture Software Slide7: Net Meeting Software which allows one-to-one online text messaging and application sharing. Slide8: Skype Skype is free software which allows you to talk to others from computer to computer instead of using a telephone. Users can make conference calls - to computers and/or telephones - and also write text messages while online. Slide9: Movies Short video clips to demonstrate activities, allow learners to view teaching and learning situations or observe a ‘talking head’ can be made by tutors and posted online for learners to view or download. Slide10: Cameras can be set up in different environments to provide streamed videos with ‘webcam quality’ images and sound through the internet .
