Cold War Confusion:

Cold War Confusion Room Setup and Challenges

Room Setup:

Room Setup Each player will be confined to one of four rooms. The player may choose which room to enter… However, once chosen and the game begins, players cannot change rooms or leave without ending the game (except at specifically scripted times). Through windows in the walls, a player will be able to see into two of the three other rooms. Player may see and talk through the windows, and objects that fit in the window slots may be passed through.

Slide8:

Room Setup Each room has a different theme, with various objects to manipulate and access to specific information. Players must work together, sharing information in order to overcome the challenges they face.

Challenges:

Challenges In their attempt to shut down the self destruct sequence and escape the complex, players are presented with four separate puzzles. Each room is presented with a challenge themed to a particular type of puzzle: music, spatial, verbal, and mathematical. For an example of a verbally-themed puzzle, a player might be required to enter an access code to turn on a console in the control room. Papers regarding that code are hidden in the filing cabinet in the document room; however, the information must be run through decryption software installed in the computer room before it can be used. When that software partially fails, the players would then be forced to finish decoding it on their own. Players cannot finish the game without solving all four of the major puzzles within the established time limit.

Social Dynamics:

Social Dynamics Co-operative game for up to four players. Game can be played solo but game play is restricted. Communication between players is restricted to adjacent rooms. All players have to work together to solve the clues in their rooms. Once all the room clues have been solved the players have to combine their clues to solve the final puzzle. One random player has the option of betraying the others and taking all the winnings.

Reward System:

Reward System Group Reward Everyone succeeds, valuable reward (object to copy) Cooperation is key Single Player Reward Not as valuable Easier to obtain Competition is key
