Corrective Exercise Benefits Improve posture and reduce tension and pain Enhance function of daily living activities as well as athletically Relax muscles and decrease stress Greater muscular strength and flexibility Injury preventative and rehabilitative

Corrective Exercise:

Corrective Exercise What is it? Every person has muscular imbalances based on what they do day to day Each muscle has an antagonistic muscle. The imbalance is where one muscle is doing too much work (Overactive) and the other is not pulling its weight (underactive) These imbalances are what cause numerous problems people experience

Corrective Exercise:

Corrective Exercise How can we fix this? Corrective Exercise is used to relax and lengthen the overactive muscle that is used to contracting. Corrective Exercise is also used to strengthen and contract the underactive muscle that is used to stretching. However, these problems are different person to person, and so we need test individually to figure out why they were having issues initially

This is the same with exercise The body moves away from pain. And previous injuries manipulate the body into imbalances as well

Office Ergonomics Moving forward We cannot avoid all of the repetitive tasks we do in life. But it is important to give ourselves time to heal and time to progress. Fitness and wellness are lifestyle changes. Going to the gym for 45 minutes isn’t enough to be healthy if we are hurting ourselves the other 23.25 hours of the day!
