Draft NOx Emission Limitations: Draft NOx Emission Limitations Flat glass melting furnaces and pressed and blown glass furnaces: 9.2 pounds of NOx per ton of glass pulled (24- hour block average). 7.0 pounds of NOx per ton of glass pulled (30-day rolling average). Draft Emission Limitations: Draft Emission Limitations Container glass furnaces: 4.0 pounds of NOx per ton of glass pulled (24-hour block average). Fiberglass furnaces 4.0 pounds of NOx per ton of glass pulled (24-hour block average).Draft Exemptions: Draft Exemptions Glass melting furnaces where all the heat is supplied an electric current. Periods of start-up, shutdown, and idling provided the operator complies with specified requirements.Draft Compliance Determination Requirement : Draft Compliance Determination Requirement Not later than May 1, 2009 - install, operate and maintain a NOx CEMS. Submit results on a regular schedule. May use a single CEMS for multiple furnaces exhausting through a common stack. Draft Compliance Demonstrations : Draft Compliance Demonstrations Compliance on a unit-by-unit basis. Facility-wide emissions averaging. Averaging among glass melting furnaces under control of the owner or operator in Pennsylvania. Phased-in surrender of CAIR NOx Ozone Season allowances. Draft Compliance Demonstrations : Draft Compliance Demonstrations From May 1, 2009 - September 30, 2009: 0.25 CAIR NOx Ozone Season allowances for each ton of excess NOx emissions. From May 1, 2010 - September 30, 2010: 0.50 CAIR NOx Ozone Season allowances for each ton of excess NOx emissions.Draft Compliance Demonstrations: Draft Compliance Demonstrations From May 1, 2011 - September 30, 2011: 0.75 CAIR NOx Ozone Season allowances for each ton of excess NOx emissions. From May 1, 2012 - September 30, 2012 and each ozone season thereafter: 1.0 CAIR NOx Ozone Season allowances for each ton of excess NOx emissions.Draft Recordkeeping Requirements : Draft Recordkeeping Requirements Maintain an operating log for each glass furnace that includes: The total hours of operation. Type and quantity of fuel used in each furnace. The quantity of glass pulled. Rulemaking Schedule: Rulemaking Schedule May 17, 2007 – Present Regulatory Concepts to AQTAC and CAC. July 26, 2007 – Present Draft Proposed Regulation to AQTAC and CAC. October 16, 2007 – Present Proposed Regulation to the EQB. You do not have the permission to view this presentation.
