Slide3 : Paris Lyon St-Etienne Pau N° 1 for loudspeakers in France
New plants : New plants 12 500 m2 Wharehouse & Logistics R&D Driver unit production Loudspeaker production Administration
Slide5 : Home Audio Car Audio Professional Three Main Business Sectors
Slide6 : Manufacturing our own drive units
Slide7 :
The drive-unit - the heart of our business.
Innovation includes new processes.
Capacity: 135 000 units/month Drive-unit manufacturing
Focal Audiomobile : K2 Power 165 K3P Focal Audiomobile Capacity: 16 000 kits/month
Slide9 : Exclusive Acoustic Technologies Access - Woven from oval glass fibers for increased rigidity.
The new Access glass fibre cones : The new Access glass fibre cones Focal have developed a new membrane with "Oval" glass fibres. This type of material at 200gr/m2 has a superior weight ratio to standard glass fibre
Excellent structural rigidity to weight value obtained
Dynamic sound and generous SPLs available, by comparable light mass material
High resistance to climatic temperature change, not sensitive to humidity
Slide11 : Exclusive acoustic technologies Polyglass - Paper cone with a single layer of hollow glass microspheres.
What is Polyglass? : What is Polyglass? Polyglass is a cone technology exclusive to Focal and made ‘in-house’.
We use a paper cone as the base due to its excellent mechanical properties - high strength to weight ratio and high internal damping.
We coat the paper cone with a film of glue and then a fine coating of hollow glass spheres is applied.
Composite cones : Composite cones In 1986 we patented our first sandwich cone using Kevlar tissues
(patent n° 2615345)
In 1995 a second patent was filed for the “W” sandwich composite cone developed for the Grande Utopia
(patent n° 2731579)
Exclusive Acoustic Technologies : Exclusive Acoustic Technologies Introducing the CKMV woofer and midrange multilayer cones
CKMV Sandwich Structure : CKMV Sandwich Structure a unique concept membrane Kevlar Structural foam Glass tissue The low mass can be delicately adjusted by adding glass tissue skins
The sandwich structure is extremely rigid
The damping can be precisely adjusted by varying the foam’s thickness
‘W’ Multi-Layer Cone™ : ‘W’ Multi-Layer Cone™
Composite sandwich structure : Composite sandwich structure A unique concept membrane 2. The sandwich structure has an extremely low mass. 1. The rigidity can be precisely adjusted with the number of glass tissue skins used and their disposition. 3. The damping can be precisely adjusted by varying the foam’s thickness.
The rigidity of cone materials : The rigidity of cone materials Index of rigidity in flexure (N/mm)
Focal Inverted dome tweeters : Focal Inverted dome tweeters
Inverted dome tweeter= unique response in energy : Better mechanical coupling between voice-coil and dome
More coherent integration with midrange Inverted dome tweeter = unique response in energy Inverted dome created by Focal-JMlab A standard dome tweeter The inverted dome tweeter
Slide21 : Focal front + Focal rear = better sound In-car measurement of Focal component system installed as a front system.
The Focal sound can be fully experienced in its purist form. When a poor choice of rear speaker is made the smoothness of the response and the level can dramatically change due to the mis-matched phase relationship. In addition, the mixed in “poor quality” sound from the rear speakers reduces the performance of the overall system. A Focal component front system with a matched Focal rear speaker is capable of playing louder with lower distortion, increased bass level and at the level of sound performance that only a Focal system can deliver.

Slide24 : Please listen to our loudspeakers Focal is not the cheapest, but it does have the best sound. It is essential to demonstrate Focal Our customer is not looking for a cheap loudspeaker, but something to bring them closer to the music.
