Extended Family: Extended Family An extended family has a mom, dad, children, and sometimes an uncle or grandparents living. Adoptive Family: Adoptive Family The parents live with a child they did not give birth to and the child becomes part of their family. Single-Parent Family: Single-Parent Family Only one parent lives with the child(ren). Sometimes the other parent moves away or the parents get a divorce so the child(ren) live with one parent. Blended Family: Blended Family The child lives in two families because the parents are divorced or not together. The child lives with one parent and stepfamily during the week and other parent and stepfamily during the weekend.
