University of Waterloo ANGEL Course Environment [UW-ACE]: 

University of Waterloo ANGEL Course Environment [UW-ACE] Homegrown UWone with ANGEL 5.6 Backend (Winter 2003) Piloted ANGEL 6.0 as in Spring 2004 Implemented ANGEL 6.1 in Fall 2004 Approx. 12,000 unique students Currently running ANGEL 6.2

Instructional Resources Repository (IR): 

Instructional Resources Repository (IR) We have developed a repository, with a peer-review process, to enable Course Editors to share activity designs and reusable modules across disciplines, within the online course environment.

Purpose of the IR: 

Purpose of the IR Mandate of LT3 to provide pedagogical support Enable sharing of high-quality peer-reviewed instructional resources amongst Course Editors Support our instructors for their self-developed courses ANGEL specific content vs. CLOE Idea catalyst for new activities

Repository Structure:

Layout Design Materials: 

Layout Design Materials Stylistic graphical layout material HTML editor > Macro Manager Examples: 75% width Columns Smaller Table components

Learning Activities: 

Learning Activities Includes both Content Inclusive and Domain Independent material Examples: Assessing Abstracts Information Literacy and Plagiarism Fill-in Chart

Information for Students: 

Information for Students Primarily information that should be linked to ease maintenance burden NOT course content Examples: University Policies Student card information

Teaching and Learning Resources for Instructors: 

Teaching and Learning Resources for Instructors Local tools and resources for instructors, that may or may not be seen by students Examples: Breeze ePresense Case Study: Designing Reusable Objects

Accessing the Materials Front Door Roster-based access allows front door access via: My Page In-Course Import from Library allows direct access to materials
