Cave Hira was a place that our beloved prophet went for meditation and prayer. He went there to make his bond with Allah stronger. And Cave Hira, is the place where Allah’s angel Gabriel first told Prophet Muhammad (saw) that he was chosen to be a prophet. Q- Where and when was the Holy Quran first revealed? A- The Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (saw) in Cave Hira. The night of the first revelation is known as Lailatul Qadr. Lailatul Qadr means “Night of Power”

Islam has been read for numerous centuries in the past. In the beginning the messages of our beloved Allah were spread verbally, but the sahabis of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw), started to write it down and collect them. Hazrat Abu Bakr (ra), the first khalifa of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw), decided to compile the Holy Quran under the advice of Hazrat Umar Farooq (ra) It is because of those writings, and the blessings of Allah, our Quran is still in original text, and unlike any other Religious books, it has not been altered in any way what so ever. Q- What is the true meaning of the word Quran? A- The meaning of the word Quran is “that which is read.”

We should be in complete respect of it all the time with no exception, since it is our guide and it will guide us for all of eternity. Q- What are the conditions for holding or touching the Quran? A- One has to be clean and to be with wudhu (ablution)
