Shelter of Flint :Shelter of Flint Integrating programs and services with safe, affordable housing to help low income and homeless individuals and families achieve independence and stability.
Slide 4:Each year, Shelter of Flint serves over 1,300 women, children and families.
Slide 5:However, every night there are still 200 people sleeping on the streets of Flint.
That’s not including those in their cars and abandoned buildings.
Slide 6:The average age of the homeless is
9 years old.

History of Shelter of Flint :History of Shelter of Flint 1983: Emergency Night Shelter for Women is created at the Holy Angels Covenant near downtown Flint. Name changes to Emergency Shelter for Women and Children.
1991: Emergency shelter moves to Delaware Avenue location.
Slide 17:1995: Shelter expands services, annual budget reaches $900,000.
2000: Shelter of Flint creates Rosewood Development Corporation to provide affordable homes and generate income.
2009: The emergency shelter location increases capacity to 54 beds, and Shelter of Flint continues to serve more homeless than ever.
