Presentation The Organization Internationale de la Francophonie states that 'celebrating Senghor means honoring Césaire!' The celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Léopold Sédar Senghor will take place under the high patronage of President Abdou Diouf and l’Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie around of the topic: Bridge across the Atlantic, a friendship: Senghor-Césaire, innovators in words and in action

Coordination: 

Coordination l’Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (O.I.F) selected the consulting firm Candamp;C represented by Mrs. Flora Eliazord to ensure the coordination of the project in collaboration with Muriel Wiltord of the Martinique Bureau Promotion

Année Senghor/Martinique/Tribute to Césaire From Wednesday, June 19th to Monday, June 26th 2006   June 21-22: Literary programs / La Négritude in Brazil June 23: Tribute to Aimé Césaire, Atrium, Fort-de-France June 23: Opening, Photo Exhibit Senghor, a man, a century …, Fort-de-France June 24: Concerto pour Verbe Nègre , OSMOSES, Atrium The time frame selected for the celebrations in Martinique will coincide with the birthday of Aimé Césaire on June 26th.

Others Events June 26th: Rooting of 3 royal Caïlcédrats *, planted by 3 children of Martinique, Senegal and Guyana, facing the African continent. The inauguration of a place or an avenue Léopold Sédar Senghor in Fort-de-France (date to be confirmed) * Common noun of the wood provided by one méliacée, Khaya Senegalensis or mahogany tree of Senegal. Large tree with fast growth, broad sling, very wide branches.
