Victory is… a: the overcoming of an enemy or antagonist. b: achievement of mastery or success in a struggle or endeavor against odds or difficulties

How can a vice be established?: 

How can a vice be established? We are born into sin Temptations can lead to new patterns New Actions make Life Patterns.

Where does the mind fit in with the Vices in our life?: 

Where does the mind fit in with the Vices in our life? By being Tempted, lured, enticed, or stirred up to a feeling or action This is where a decision is made to act. 1John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Matthew Henry Commentary John 8:44 (#41-47) Satan prompts men to excesses by which they murder themselves and others, while what he puts into the mind tends to ruin men's souls. He is the great promoter of falsehood of every kind. He is a liar, all his temptations are carried on by his calling evil good, and good evil, and promising freedom in sin. He is the author of all lies; whom liars resemble and obey, with whom all liars shall have their portion for ever. The special lusts of the devil are spiritual wickedness, the lusts of the mind, and corrupt reasoning's, pride and envy, wrath and malice, enmity to good, and enticing others to evil. By the truth, here understand the revealed will of God as to the salvation of men by Jesus Christ, the truth Christ was now preaching, and which the Jews opposed.

We must stop justifying our actions and allow God’s Word to show us out of our habitual ways. c. We must turn off the DVD of Satan’s lies and tune in The Holy Spirit d. We must use the Weapon’s of Light - push back darkness and expose light.

Lord Jesus, in Your Name, thank you for helping me see that oppression comes from the enemy and that You have enabled me to control my thoughts and to bring them into obedience to Your Word. As I start to fill my day with prayer and praise help me to keep my mind on You thus changing my vices into victories. Amen. :
