Slide3: Remember, most school zones are
posted at 20 mph during early
morning and late afternoon hours. Be especially cautious in neighborhoods
without sidewalks and walking on the
street is a must. During early morning hours
it may be dark and difficult to
see people walking or riding bikes.
-- Slow down.
Slide4: Give pedestrians the
right of way. The purpose of a crossing guard
is not to ensure vehicle traffic keeps
moving, it is to stop traffic for
pedestrians. Watch for children crossing
streets -- both at cross walks
and other areas.
Slide5: Be aware of locations
on your route where
kids catch the bus. Remember that traffic must
stop in both directions for a
bus showing red flashing lights. Buses make frequent stops. Be aware.
Slide6: In addition to school hours,
schools, playgrounds and parks can be busy with kids involved in sports, extended academics, scouting and other special events both evenings and weekends.
…… so be careful always!!!!
