Began Feb. 7, 1965 with studios in
Cleveland’s Max Hayes Trade School.

What We Do : What We Do Provide services to 470,000 students and 33,000 educators in over 190 public and private school districts in an eleven county area ranging from Ashtabula to Sandusky and south to Mansfield
Contracted by the Ohio SchoolNet Commission as one of Ohio's eight educational technology agencies
Create educational opportunities for primary and secondary schools through use of new technologies
Provide Instructional Television
WVIZ/PBS Staff : WVIZ/PBS Staff The WVIZ/PBS Educational department consists of a staff of over 25 employees and over 50 area educators who perform contractual services as needed.

SCIENCE IS THE SOLUTION : SCIENCE IS THE SOLUTION Middle school program teaching physical science through problems in the Thunder Bay amusement park
Concepts explored: Motion, Gravity, Energy, and Waves
Contains 4 videotapes, a CD-ROM, teacher’s guide and classroom activities, and a teacher training program
Funded by the Ohio Educational Telecommunications Network Commission and the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation
WEATHER or NOT : WEATHER or NOT A new multimedia program for grades 6-8
Based on Ohio Proficiency Objectives, this program helps students answer questions regarding weather using science and math skills
Locates 20 WeatherStations around Ohio helping students to track weather and apply their knowledge to weather events
NewsDepth : NewsDepth Award winning week 20-minute news program for grades 3-8 in partnership with WEWS NEWSCHANNEL 5.
Broadcast on all of Ohio’s Public Television Stations and funded by the Martha Holden Jennings foundation.
National Teacher Training Institute (NTTI) : National Teacher Training Institute (NTTI) Provides Master teachers with training and resources to integrate video and internet technologies into hands-on-science and math instruction
Teachers return to their districts as trainers to train their peer teachers as well as students.
Trained over 115,000 teachers

OnLine Staff Development for Teachers

North Ohio Technology Association (NOTA) : North Ohio Technology Association (NOTA) An organization of Northeastern Ohio school districts seeking to provide concurrent two-way audio, video, and data transmission.
Provides staff development, information dissemination, library services, and distance learning for students.
