TINA TURNER {1939 – PRESENT} CHILDHOOD The rock star currently known as Tina Turner was born in the morning of November 26, 1939 in Brownsville’s Haywood Memorial Hospital. Her birth name was Anna Mae Bullock. Anna Mae was a country girl who grew up on a farm on Highway 19 in Nut Bush, TN. Over Anna’s childhood she jumped from house to house. At age three, Woods shot a forty-eight over nine holes at the Navy Golf Club in Cypress, CA. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar {1947-PRESENT} Kareem was born April 16, 1947. His birth name was Lew Alcindor Jr. He grew up in Harlem, NY. He was raised Roman Catholic. EDUCATION He went to Power Memorial High School. It was there that he began Basketball. For college, Kareem went to UCLA. He was named Player of the Year

While playing for UCLA, he scratched his left cornea in 1968. ADULT LIFE While in UCLA he converted to Islam. The Harlem Globetrotters offered him $1 million to play for them, but he declined. He was drafted to the Milwaukee Bucks. In a preseason game in 1974 he broke his hand and scratched his left cornea again! In 1983, his house burnt down. In 1989 he got married to Janice brown, who changed her name to Habiba Abdul-Jabbar. Together they had four kids {two sons and two daughters They divorced in 1973.

Oprah Winfrey {1954 – PRESENT}: 

Oprah Winfrey {1954 – PRESENT} CHILDHOOD She was born in Kosisciusko, Mississippi on January 29, 1954. Her parents were unmarried. She was also named after one of the people in the bible. She was raise by grandmother on a farm were she began her broadcasting career. At the age of thirteen she was sent to a juvenile detention home only to be denied admission because all the beds were filled. She was sent to Nashville, TN to live under her father’s care. Vernan Winfrey saw it fit for her daughter to have a midnight curfew, and he required her to read a book and write a book report each week.

EDUCATION At the age of thirteen she received a scholarship to Nicolet High school. She skipped two grades to become the teacher’s pet. She attended Tennessee State University, which was called a historically black institute. ADULT LIFE She is a billionaire. She has done a lot of movies as in: The Color Purple and Beloved She has also helped release movies. She has help the underprivileged African-Americans Oprah Winfrey’s broadcasting career began when she was hired at WVOL Radio in Nashville.

A few years later, she was signed on with WTVF-TV in Nashville as a reporter/anchor. She attended Tennessee State were she majored in communication and performing arts. In 1976, she moved to Baltimore to work at WJZ-TV News a as co-anchor in 1978. She had a talent for hosting a talent she when she became co-host for WJZ-TV. She was asked to go to a talk show called Dolling for Dollars in 1978. She overtook the Donahave and changed it to the Oprah Winfrey show in 1986. WORKS Ophra Winfrey has the highest talk show in TV history. She also owns a magazine and movie called Harpo. She worked as a news caster in Nashville on WALC-TV.

B.B. King{1925 – PRESENT}: 

B.B. King {1925 – PRESENT} CHILDHOOD Riley B. King was born to poor family. He was born on a plantation an went to church where he found inspiration to play the guitar EDUCATION ? UNKNOWN ? ADULT LIFE Disaster struck in 1958 when on of King’s buses hit a gas truck; Riley wasn’t on bored none of the singer’s were seriously injured, but the bus driver was killed. Riley was at a dance were a fight broke out.

A lamp caught fire to the building. At first, Riley fled with the crowd, but he left his guitar at ran back for it. When the fight was over, he named his guitar Lucille.
