For the past four years BALEARIC PEOPLE has taken place throughout the summer each Saturday night at the world’s largest club PRIVILEGE, and Sunday mornings on the legendary SPACE TERRACE with We Love Sundays... 2005 holds more new and exciting projects with BALEARIC PEOPLE moving to the new, stylish and glamorous Penelope Nightclub whilst bringing their exotic party style on a world tour, sharing the magic of Ibiza with everyone. Behind the scenes.. BALEARIC PEOPLE is the vision of Ibiza veterans Juan Medrano and Julian Gonzalez; previously Privilege Managing Director and Promotions Manager respectively, boasting a wide experience in producing events and contracting artist and performers. After working closely together for over ten years at Privilege, they decided to leave to embark on their new personal career together with the highly successful, BALEARIC PEOPLE in 2000. They offer their experience in creating a truly magical experience and a well-sought alternative to any other island concept, thus attracting the most authentic public.

Sebastian Gamboa: 

Sebastian Gamboa Brought up in the magic island of Ibiza and influenced by the music cult, Sebastian Gamboa started developing his professional music career in 1990, and since then his rising career has led him to play in the best clubs in and out of Spain He defines his style as Latin House, both styles he transmits in his sessions and productions, where he also likes to introduce real instruments such as: bass, winds, percussions and voices, like in his production "Gatinha Gostosa". Sebastian Gamboa made his debut as a producer in 1998 with his hit single “House Seasons E.P.” for Weekend Records. His next production launched in the year 2000 was titled “Basabbah Dubs”, in 2001”Gatinha Gostosa”, and in 2002 “Lover Boy”, all edited and published by Kidesol Records. Also in the same year he produced together with Nuboy (aka David Penn), “Sweet Sonora”, for Weekend Records. This last one being included in some of the best compilations of house music. In the year 2003 he released two new projects for Weekend records, one with Nuboy called “A Journey Into The Keys”, and a compilation for “Balearic People” under the same name. In 2004 he had “Pepita 16” that will be released by Weekend records again. The success in his career has led him to his summer residency in the world-renowned club PRIVILEGE (Ibiza) and also had him booked by numerous national and international clubs. In 1998 Sebastian Gamboa was nominated for the Ibiza DJ Awards as the best national DJ, which he went on to win in 2001. Javi Muñoz: 

Javi Muñoz The spectacular growth of house music and the late evolution of club culture that occurred in Spain at the beginning of the 90s had a big influence on Javi Muñoz, a DJ who didn't delay in experimenting in all the different variations of what he considers his own style. This style you can appreciate in his House music productions and sessions. In his way, Javi Muñoz started a very successful career which, within a short pace of time, converted him into an indispensable DJ in Ibiza. His gigs at Amnesia and Pacha, together with his regular performances at Privilege and Space, demonstrate his knowledge and experience in the Ibiza music scene. Javi Muñoz’s interest in experimenting in house music and creating his very own particular style has led him to travel all around the world. His sessions in Queen (Paris), Ministry (Moscow), Joia (Miami), 90 Grad (Berlin), Kapital (Madrid), Puzzle (Valencia), Radost Fx (Prague) and many other venues show his international experience. His gigs have a personal underground touch, electro and deep groove sound, which leave no-one indifferent. He is resident in Barcelona and is considered one of the top DJs in his city, with regular sessions at Discotheque, La Terrazza, Danzatoria and Catwalk.

Bruno from Ibiza: 

Bruno from Ibiza Born in the North of France in 1969, BRUNO came to Ibiza for the first time in 1994. After playing his personal style in local bars, he opened up his own record store. In 1997, he became the new resident dj at CAFE DEL MAR replacing JOSE PADILLA. In 1998, BRUNO released his first compilation with REACT called REAL IBIZA. BRUNO was also guest dj in the biggest clubs of the island, like Pacha, Space, Privilege and Amnesia. In 1999 he carried out a new project with CAFE DEL MAR MUSIC: CHILL HOUSE MIX. Starting then, he was going abroad to present his Pure Balearic Style. He also attended the MIAMI Winter Music Conference for first time. Year 2000 was a historical date in BRUNO´s career: the celebration of CAFE DEL MAR's 20th anniversary the best-selling compilation from CAFE DEL MAR ever - VOL.7 the CHIVAS REGAL TOUR for 3 weeks around AUSTRALIA and ASIA 2001 BRUNO kept on doing the compilations for CAFE DEL MAR ( CHILL HOUSE MIX 2, DREAMS 2 ). He also shared the JAFFA North American tour: 3 weeks around CANADA and USA. In between, he realised a new project: the GLOBAL LOUNGE SESSION - IBIZA with MIAMI-based Label DEEP TOUCH. BRUNO started the year 2002 spinning in BRASIL, where he stayed for 2 weeks. 150.000 Brazilians came to see him play before DANIELA MERCURY in SALVADOR (BAHIA). The same year he compiled VOL.9 and CHILL HOUSE MIX 3, both on CAFE DEL MAR’s label. That summer, BRUNO came back as a house dj in Ibiza Clubs: “Balearic People” at Privilege and “Another Paradise” at Pin-Up. In 2003, he released CAFÉ DEL MAR vol.10 and DREAMS 3 and a chill-out mix CD called LES AMBASSADEURS. His DJing took him to new territories... Eastern Europe and Middle-East. NYE he was playing for sunset and sunrise on a beach in BORACAY, a beautiful island in the Philippines. 2004 Bruno released vol.11 (CAFE DEL MAR MUSIC) BRUNO started the year 2005 playing in South America. He was part of the first LOVE PARADE in CHILE. Between June and July, BRUNO FROM IBIZA is doing the SUNDOWNER tour with T-Mobile, with several gigs all over Europe. During the summer, Bruno will keep up his residency at Café del Mar, from Monday to Thursday. He will be playing in the best venues on the island this summer : SPACE, KM5, BLUE MARLIN, PENELOPE and others to be confirmed. Andrea Galea: 

Andrea Galea AKA DJ Bomba / Solasso Seventies Super clubs, such as the Loft or Studio in NYC, led the way for the future of dance music.  But Disco died... Long live the House that Andrew Galea built! Galea set up shop in his native town of Puerto Banus, delivering fine muzika in Mediterranean nightclubs like Willy Salsa´s or at his own legendary night at Oscar´s.Key to forging what is now known as the Balearic sound. He went on to introduce his Spanish Style to unsuspecting crowds, which led to a full blown attack on the major dancefloors of Europe, emulating and creating the same buzz from earlier party's, like Raindance, hosted by Andy and friends in downtown Puerto Banus. Galea collaborated with Guru Josh, followed by the formation of the Sol Brothers with Aston Freetsyler, and, later paving the way for the formation of the infamous Freestylers. Galea and Aston will be releasing further work under the Sol Brothers name, celebrating over half a decade of music together. Galea’s music hits both the underground and commercial dancefloors, such as Que Pasa, released on Manifesto Records in 1994. Galea will be remembered for releasing cheeky little numbers under the guises of DJ Bomba or Flint (Fresh Recordings), all of which still slam parties all over the world.  Other projects have included an unforgettable Journeys by DJ compilation, where you will find his early work alongside DJ giants such as Jay Chappell and Jon Digweed, as well as helping to establish JDJ on the airwaves through an Internet Radio project – probably one of the first ventures into the globalization of house music, serving up x-rated beats to a global collective of music perverts.  Andy is also going down in history as one of the most influential DJs that helped take London superclub, the Cross  to new pastures Remixing credits are too numerous to list all, but mention names like Technotronic, Tears for Fears, StoneBridge and C&C Music Factory you'll begin to comprehend the depth of Galea´s talents, not only in the studio, but live on stage as well. As a purveyor of high quality music and not pigeon-holed electronica, every up and coming DJ should be calling Galea to beg him for his latest promos.  The music just reflects cool composition, all of which capture a vision of the future... probably why he has shared the Hyper State stage with Norman Cook and Apollo 440.  Bringing things right up-to-date, Galea is now resident at Pacha London, producing a full range of good music... still at the bleeding edge of innovation.  And whilst constantly rewriting the rules at nights like Pacha, Dusted in Middlesborough, The Cross or on Ministry's Radio Station, Galea still manages to work full-time in the studio and travel world-wide work the crowd with the house that he built.. DJ legend Danny Tenaglia play-listed Galea’s Busy Boys 2003 anthem “Does what it says on the tin” at no. 1 in his personal charts.  Ask about Andy on the circuit... DJ´s and industry big-wigs alike all respect Andy for the right reasons... namely that he is a craftsman who produces and mixes music for everyone – not himself.  These rare qualities are imperative if you want to see your name ranked alongside Masters at Work as one of the top 3 remixers in the world... which is what Galea is. Future First... “There always has been and always will be only two kinds of music.  Either its good, or its bad,” said Galea.  “I think the pace of change is gaining momentum.  It certainly will from my studio.  Dance music will keep morphing to sound better and better.  Starting in New York next month, Galea will be taking his own record label – First Recordings – on tour... with more dates for the UK and the rest of Europe in the pipe.

Da Cat: 

Da Cat Da Cat’s first musical influence was from Latin and soul music. He grew up into the Hip hop atmosphere and discovered a new Sound called House music at the end of the 80’s. Da Cat lives in Ibiza, New York and different places around the world to spread his House vibes. Known for his trademark style of Percussive House, deep ,dark drums, pumpin’ beats mixed with Tribal and Tech house. Da Cat has performed in the world’s largest and prestigious nightclubs. This DJ/producer knows a thing or two about what goes down well at a Party... Camilo Franco: 

Camilo Franco With more than 10 years experience as a Dj, Camilo Franco is one of the most important dj´s in Spain. Born in Colombia and raised in Spain, at just 15 years old Camilo was the resident of the most important club in Benidorm (Pacha). From that moment, without a rest he began a long history working in the most important clubs all around Spain, including the Balearic islands and sharing the buzz with the world’s best DJs. In September 2002 he won the DJ championships sponsored by Lucky Strike and became an idol across Spain. He did a promotion tour with the brand and featured heavily in the most important magazines of Spanish dance culture, Dj Mag , Dj one and Dance World . He later toured Italy with Café Del Mar, Ibiza in 2003, playing the most prestigious clubs.. Camillo has current residencies at GURU (Valencia ) weekly , IMAGE (Bilbao) monthly , BATAPLAN (San Sebastian) monthly and CATWALK (Barcelona) every two weeks. In the summertime Camilo Franco is one of the residents on the white island with BALEARIC PEOPLE at PRIVILEGE and SPACE the following morning! Gordon Edge: 

Gordon Edge Gordon Edge has been DJing, producing records and playing live trumpet at clubs and events for more than 15 years now. He combines a unique experience of DJing and Live Trumpet to House dance floors world-wide and offers a versatile style and sound that is equally at home when played at some of the biggest clubs in the world or at an intimate party. As a DJ Gordon has played world-wide including Miami, New York, San Francisco, Japan, China, Ukraine, Canada and 3 NYE tours in Australia, 20 tours of Russia and all over Europe including every club possible in Ibiza. As a trumpet player not only has he played for Sade on her 1st world tour which included 'Live Aid' but also for Madonna in Miami and New York at various private parties, and most places across the world as with his DJing. It was in 1998 that Gordon took his first visit to Ibiza and along with his trumpet he was invited to play at Pacha, Amnesia, Privilege, Es Paradise, El Divino, Eden and Space Terrace. Although Gordon became famed on the Island for his trumpet playing and more commonly known as 'The Trumpet Man' he has also been DJing in Ibiza for many years now. He has produced over 160 records including the massive ‘Set You Body Free’ on Subliminal Records. For the past 4 years he has been musician and DJ at Bora Bora, Space, Privilege, Amnesia, El Divino, Pacha and Pin Up amongst others.

Andy Laguna: 

Andy Laguna Styles: House & Electro House Andy Laguna (born Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, 1978) started deejaying at the age of 16. Being a teenager Laguna used to be all night long playing music in clubs in Barcelona such as La Terraza, El Cel, Pacha Sitges and Ottozut to name a few. In 1999 Laguna decided to move to Ibiza, he walked straight into the infamous and world-known Café del Mar located in San Antonio, as their resident dj alongside Bruno from Ibiza. Summer 2000 arrived and Andy became resident DJ of Savannah, on sunset strip as well as other charismatic bars in the busy Port of Ibiza. May 2001, Andy returned from Barcelona to DJ in many Ibiza Port and harbour bars including El Horno. 2001 summer ended with a residency at Morgana, newly opened and causing a stir in clubland! Throughout the summer season of 2002 Laguna enjoyed his residency in the open air comfort of Morgana. From here on, Laguna settled down permanently on the white isle his career ever growing with guest appearances at many of the islands clubs including Amnesia, El Divino, Space Ibiza, Pacha Ibiza and the winter only Lucifer; as well as famous beach bars including Blue Marlin, Km5, Mambo, Bora Bora and Kanya.  Laguna was the DJ choice of New York singer and promoter Gramma Funk to be one of her DJs at her regularly hosted private parties.  In 2003 Laguna spread his wings leaving Ibiza temporary to take part in the Privilege World Tour, location South America. He played Buenos Aires, Argentina and liked it so much he stayed after the tour, DJing in many other clubs around the city.  Andy is presently resident on Tuesday’s in the Red Box Room at Space for Carl Cox’s party. He is a regular guest deejay for the world famous `We love Sundays’ parties @ Space´. And Saturdays he is resident at Lola´s, the first ever disco in Ibiza Dalt Villa, newly opened 2004, followed by his residency with Balearic People @ Penelope’s.   As well as playing the club circuit in Ibiza, Andy also has his own dance mix show ‘Glamour House’ on Flaix FM, from 6pm daily. Last year he wrote his debut single ‘I want your sister’ on Metropol Records, included on the compilations CASSAGRANDE CLUB presents GEORGE MOREL and CASSABLANCA TRIBAL SESSIONS (2004) / I want your sister Rmx 2005  As well as all the native speaking Spanish countries around the world, Andy has also played in Dubai (Trilogy). The rest of the world will have to wait with baited breath!
