Membership: 

Membership Adult memberships are good for one year Resident children memberships are good until the child turns 18 years old. Reciprocal and Non-Resident children memberships are good for one year. We issue a permanent, non-transferable card. Individuals may not use multiple cards or other people’s cards to access public pc’s (e.g. Internet). Your card must be presented each time material is borrowed. Loss of your card or a change of address must be reported as soon as possible so we can update your membership. Replacement cards are issued for free.

Public Computers: 

Public Computers ONE hour per day per individual. Most computers are first come first served. Some computers may be booked in advance. Word processing is available at four locations: ABB, CPL, MLW and SPW. To access the Internet you need your: Library Card Number PIN Open Internet.

Bestsellers to Go: 

Bestsellers to Go A new service for browsing customers who want a current bestseller and are willing to read quickly. 1 book per customer. 1 week loan. $1 / $0.40 (adult/children books) per day overdue charge. Sorry, no renewals.

Borrowing Limits: : 

Borrowing Limits: You may borrow up to 40 items at one time. You may borrow 1 adult and 1 children’s Bestseller to Go at one time You may borrow up to 5 adult and 5 children’s DVDs at one time.

Renewing Materials: 

Renewing Materials Most material may be renewed TWICE, (except for DVDs and magazines, which can be renewed ONCE), provided the item has not been requested by another customer. Renewals are not available on Bestsellers to Go. Materials can be renewed 24/7 by: Phone: 496-7047 Internet:www.epl.ca 'My Account'

Returning Materials: 

Returning Materials Materials may be returned to any of the 16 EPL locations After hour returns are available at most branches A 24 hour return is not available at ABB, CPL, LON, and MLW.

Returning Materials to Customer Service Desks: 

Returning Materials to Customer Service Desks Return materials to the designated Customer Service desk when: You wish to borrow more DVDs or another Bestseller to Go right away. You think that you may exceed the 40 item limit at Check-out if you return materials in the return bins.

Overdue Charges: 

Overdue Charges Children’s Material: $0.40 per day, per item: Videos, DVDs, and Bestsellers to Go. $0.10 per day, per item: Books, magazines, CDs and audio-books. Adult Material: $1.00 per day, per item: Videos, DVDs and Bestsellers to Go. $0.25 per day, per item: Books, magazines, CDs, and audio-books.

Requesting Materials: 

Requesting Materials Material may be requested, at no charge, from any of the 16 branches Items may be requested at www.epl.ca Available titles will arrive in about a week You will be notified by phone, mail or email when your request has arrived Suggestions for new material may be made by filling out a request card or through the 'Suggest New Items' link on our website

E-Mail Notices: 

E-Mail Notices Sign up online at www.epl.ca. Select My Account then Notices by E-mail. Receive hold notification by e-mail instead of a telephone call or snail mail. Receive a Courtesy Due Date e-mail reminder when you have one or more items due in one day. Occasionally the Courtesy Date Due Reminder notices may not be sent due to unanticipated technical issues. NOTE: You are responsible for returning or renewing materials on time. You’ll still need to check your online account (My Account) regularly and / or keep your Check-Out receipt.

The Alberta Library Card (TAL) Free membership with any Edmonton Public Library card Allows you to borrow from, and return to, any Alberta library Limited to 5 books at a time.
