The shot is a focus pull so it makes the characters stand out and the background ambiguous. It is mentioned that the film is a successful novel, which would intrigue anyone who enjoyed reading the novel. I’m going to try to an mak e my poster different to make it eye catching The characters positioning is very interesting and gives an indication of a sci-fi film because it is an unnatural position to be in. The two shot and the engagement ring signify and romantic genre and they are at the center of the poster to be the main focus. The theme of marriage continues on the poster with as she is wearing white and the title is in a white font.Slide 4: Main actors Lead characters slogan Bold film title DetailsSlide 5: Picture- This highlights that the film belongs to the Rom com genre as it contains Props typical characters of a Hero who is shown to be quite strong and protective of the heroine. The Heroine appears to be quite vulnerable and she is lifted her off her feet which complements the title as the Rom com is based on the idea of a fairytale where the Heroine is always whisked away by a hero. The main character is also wearing a dress and a Tiara which was done to complement the title as “Cinderella” is a fairytale character. The use of canvas shoes on the female character also shows that she is a typical everyday character which may attract the target audience as they could relate to the character. The plain background is used to show draw focus to the image and also which complements the image of the main character as she appears to be vulnerable and in need of the main male character. The background also creates a feeling of nothing because the characters need nothing but each other and therefore indicates it is part of the Rom com genre This subtitle helps highlight that that the film is in Rom com genre as it is a fairytale like statement which are always filled with romance and love. This would therefore attract the target audience. By naming the actors this is a typical conventions of film posters as it could also help attract the target audience if they like the certain actors in the film, making them more inclined to see it. The light blue title helps it to stand out against the background whilst still creating a light hearted, innocent feeling as it is a light colour.Slide 6: The colour scheme for this film poster is blue and yellow, which links in to with the title and the theme of summer. The background has pictures of the character summer, some yellow in the shape of the sun and the others blue, so it looks like the sun and the sky. There are approximately 500 photographs of the character summer, which could represent the 500 days of summer. It shows that the poster has been cleverly linked with the film title. Some elements of the poster are drawn and the male character is drawing, which gives the audience indications to the characters personality and hobbies. I think this I an interesting way to change what a conventional poster should look like but still works really effectively.Slide 7: Posters from my key Texts I love the way in which this poster shows the same person in two ways, this idea relates to the way my film plays with this concept of alternate reality. This may be a good idea to consider for my film poster . Using a combination of both images. I like the way the baby stands out in the poster, we can see that whom ever made this spent a lot of time and effort into editing the background images , the text and adjusting to the exact colour. This was an important part of making this post memorable and that’s the sort of affect I want to cause with mineSlide 8: Love the really desaturated colours in this poster it gives it depth. With the light coming from the cracks in the clouds shining on the two people running down the peer, using the rule of thirds technique create a haunting effect this I a good concept to experiment with when creating my own poster, I also like who the audience cant see them just there actions. Also the titles add interesting feature as they are coming apart towards the end of the title, this could have a hidden meaning to represent how when a clone gets to a certain age body parts start getting taken from them. I really like how the titles stand out in this poster it give the poster meaning from the light grey and white colours that make up the picture. I like the camera glare on the image and the poster portrays the characters. The slogan just sums up the film.Slide 9: Conclusion There is always a large image depicting the main characters. There is generally a quote from a movie critic generally working for a newspaper, for example “Explosively funny…” – then the name of the magazine or newspaper. Slogans for the films are often used below or over the top of the large image. Bold fonts are used for the name which is usually in capital letters, often bright colours or a colour that stands out from the background like white on black are used to create attention. Main actors names printed somewhere on the page .There is usually mention of other films that have the same style and have been produced by the same company. Depending on the films genre it can be phrased in different ways, for example for films of a romance or drama the words may appear “From the creators of…” Another trait I have noticed is there is normally a date of when the film will be coming out.
