They remind me of Fall, and oddly enough, that reminds me of Minnesota sports teams. Thanks! http://www.minnesotasportsteams.com Saving..... Post Reply Close Saving..... One of the exquisite poems I chose was Messy Room . It is about a messy room (that is also funny) that can be described and then the poet asks who's room it is and you won't believe it! Summary of As Soon as Fred Gets Out of Bed Another poem I picked was As Soon as Fred Gets Out of Bed . It is about a person named Fred that starts out getting out of bed with his underwear on his head and it stays there for the rest of the day. Then it ends up somewhere else and you definitely can't guess where it ends up! Summary of October The next poem I picked is October . It's about some one expressing their feelings of what October is. That person could say that the weather might change or something will happen to the trees and the poet keeps describing until the end. Summary of A Clear Midnight After that, I chose this poem. It's called A Clear Midnight . It's called that because the poet describes that everything from the daytime is over and it's just night. Summary of A Winter Ride The last (but not least) poem I chose was A Winter Ride. It is called that because it has someone expressing their feelings about walking/running through in a Winter day. Using amazing vocabulary to describe what the poet is seeing.Slide 4: The Main Idea The main idea of Messy Room is for people to laugh at the poem for it's silliness. The main idea of As Soon as Fred Gets Out of Bed is about how funny a person could be. The main idea of October Is to talk about October and what happens in October. The main idea of A Clear Midnight is talking about after a long day, night is here and the poet is describing the night. The main idea of A Winter Ride is about a winter ride, that someone is enjoying and being graceful about it.Slide 5: The Characters The characters were either, the poet, or the made up character. But it didn't really make a difference. The poet Shel Silverstein was a character and he was hilarious. Jack Prelutsky made a character named Fred and he was laughable at, too! Then there was Robert Frost, Walt Whitman, and Amy Lowell which were all so descriptive and used good vocabulary words. So really, every character was amazing.Slide 6: My Opinions on the Poems I think that all the poems were great. They used very descriptive language, gave me a picture in my mind, and were just amazing.Slide 7: Explanation of Genre All of the poems I chose are poetry because poetry is describing a topic in the least amount of space. You might describe it how a comedian would. Or maybe you wanted to make something serious? Also poetry can be very descriptive, unique, or just a simple poem. (Even though there aren't any kinds of simple poems, I think there's something amazing to every poem) All of the poems I chose included all of that.Slide 8: THE ENDSlide 9: Where to find the Pictures: http://www.clipartpal.com/_thumbs/pd/education/note.png http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/strollerderby/2008/10/01-07/MessyTeenRoom.jpg http://www.minnesota-visitor.com/images/winter-on-the-north-shore-21301169.jpg http://www.ghacks.net/files/screens/2007/11/midnight-moon.jpg http://www.asergeev.com/pictures/archives/2004/421/jpeg/08.jpg http://www.thinkwebdesigns.com/images/light_bulb.png http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_3QlsQb1rEfo/TH3u-1ERNbI/AAAAAAAAG20/_8iwQuy3gIY/s320/boy-underwear-head.gif http://www.bighappysmileyface.com/happy-face_happyface_smiley_2400x2400.jpg http://www.instructables.com/image/F3W754YFHM8R0LS/How-to-Write-Poetry.jpg Where to find the Poems: http://famouspoetsandpoems.com/poets/shel_silverstein/poems/14818 http://famouspoetsandpoems.com/poets/walt_whitman/poems/17537 http://famouspoetsandpoems.com/poets/amy_lowell/poems/19956 http://famouspoetsandpoems.com/poets/jack_prelutsky/poems/18767 http://famouspoetsandpoems.com/poets/robert_frost/poems/585 You do not have the permission to view this presentation.
