Summary : 

Summary In the book Esperanza Rising there are a lot of emotional parts. One part that was emotional was when Esperanza’s dad died because he went out to fix a fence and bandits came and killed him. Another part was when Esperanza was sleeping and woke up her house was on fire!!! She ran out of the house with her family and servant's. All her clothes were destroyed. In the book Esperanza rising Esperanza Was waiting for her father to come from fixing the fence in there land. It was a long time that they had to wait to fix the fence outside. So Esperanza mom had to send out servant’s to find him. Esperanza fell into a deep sleep and then woke up. It was her birthday. She hoped that her father would be back home to give her a birthday gift but when went down stairs she didn’t see him. Alfonso her servant said “We have bad news”. Esperanza’s mom said “where is pa”? They all hanged there heads. Esperanza’s heart was broking into pieces. Since they were rich there Uncles tried to take over them. They were crossed that they had to move from Mexico to live with there servant Alfonso’s family in California.

Slide 3: 

Middle In the middle of the book Esperanza goes from being a rich person to a very poor person. Her friend Isabella Helps her through this tough situation. To get money she has to know how to sweep, clean baby’s and harvest Asparagus. One day when she was with her friends eating and her family was tending the Asparagus a terrible dust storm struck. Her friends and her ran into the house. Esperanza was wondering where her family and servant's were. Then they came barging through the door. They were covered in brown sand. After a few days after the storm Esperanza mother got sick because the sand in the dust storm was in her lungs. The doctors said” that your mom has a disease so I let the nurses know that you can’t go near her” “Can we just see her” asked Esperanza “Sure” said the doctor.

End : 

End In desperate times you need people to help you out. When Esperanza had enough money saved she brought her grandma for help. Esperanza’s grandma was so sad when she heard that her daughter was in the hospital but she got out and broke the disease. When she got home from the hospital she was so happy that her mom came(grandma). She was so surprised. Grandma was making a blanket that she crocheted for her. She laid down on Esperanza’s mom.

Characters : 

Characters Alfonso-servant of the family. Alfonso’s family helped Esperanza’s family by letting them stay in there camp and teaching them out to get money from work. Miguel-Servant of the family. Helped Esperanza’s grandma come by stealing Esperanza’s money that she saved for Grandma to come. Sixto-father of Esperanza. Got killed by Bandits while fixing a fence. Romania-Esperanza mom. She got by a dust storm and the sickness broke after a long time in the hospital. Isabell-Alfonso’s kin. She help teach Esperanza how to sweep and harvest lots of crops. Hortensia-A servant for Esperanza. She helped Esperanza by bathing her and making sure she was clean and have the right supply. Esperanza-main character. She is really emotional when things that are dreadful happen.

Main Idea In the book I think that the main idea of the book is to never give up in faith in someone. When people let go of faith things that they do get worse or harder then usual. Suddenly they get depressed. When Esperanza lost faith she always gained back. Like when she thought that her grandma would not come she actually did. So never ever give up on faith.

Opinion : 

Opinion My opinion of the book is that people should read it. I rate it a 9 out of ten. I rated it that because it actually made me feel that I was there because of the emotion. Like when the big dust storm struck and a lot of bad things happened as when the mom got sick. I also felt sad about the parts that were when there are people dead or sick like when the father died because of those bandits.
