The Journey. . . The Lila Poonawalla Foundation (LPF) was started in 1996. Girls studying for PG in any stream in India and Overseas were considered. 1996 Foundation introduced Scholarship for Engineering Students for their 4 year program. 2010 Foundation launched another scholarship program for Graduation in Pure Sciences. School Program called “2morrow 2gether” was started with the objective of supporting financially challenged girls, from 7 th Std. until their graduation . 2011 2005 Foundation introduced Special Scholarships for Post Graduation . Under this category, exceptionally economically challenged yet academically brilliant girls were gifted this scholarship.

Foundation launched additional scholarship programs for Diploma in Education & Engineering , as well as Graduation in Physiotherapy & Nursing . 2012 Foundation launched additional Scholarship Programs for Diploma to Graduation in Engineering, Architecture and Pharmacy. 2013 Foundation launched Scholarship program in two new districts of Maharashtra i.e. Amravati & Wardha for Engineering, Nursing, Pharmacy (in Wardha) and Agriculture (in Amravati). Since its inception, Foundation has supported around 3000 deserving girls for their education in India & Abroad giving approx 5200 scholarships. 2014 2015 Dynamic Progress Continues. . .

After the final Selection of the candidates, an Award Function is held where a prominent individual is invited as the Chief Guest. Once the girl receives the scholarship, she becomes a part of the LILA FAMILY for lifetime. She is called a LILA JUNIOR / LILA GIRL / LILA FELLOW , and receives support and mentoring right through her career and also personal life problems, including through her sickness. ‘ Inspira’ – Relationship Beyond Measurement Thought of starting a newsletter was first conceived in year 2000 by Lila Poonawalla. Inspira is a tertiary in-house newsletter of the foundation which stands as a communicating tool amongst the LPF Family and its supporters across the globe. The latest Vol 42 of Inspira was released at ‘Life Coaching Workshop’ on15th Feb 2015 by coach Ms. Piroja Mehta along with the Inspira Team . The first volume of Inspira was released at the hands of the Chief Guest Ms. Mallika Sarabhai.

We Want to : Support women for better health & good education Reach out to many more girls from rural areas and from disadvantaged families by scaling up the activities of Foundation Support specialized vocational courses in order to enhance the employment potential of girls The Road Ahead. . .
