Aim of BANG campaign
The Safer Swansea & Neath Port Talbot Partnerships’ BANG campaign aims to protect people, property and the environment by promoting and enforcing the laws and codes of practice relating to bonfires, fireworks and fire lighting materials through the following objectives.
Objectives:
For partner organisations and communities to work pro-actively together;
To promote dignity and respect towards other members of society and eliminate anti-social behaviour.
To educate society on the dangers and environmental impact of bonfires, fireworks and fire lighting materials.
To eliminate the building of un-authorised bonfires on public land through publicity campaigns and law enforcement.
To clear as quickly and as efficiently as reasonably possible, un-authorised bonfires built on public land.
To promote and enforce the legitimate sale and use of fireworks.
To promote the safety benefits of organised firework displays.
To prevent accidents, injuries and harm from bonfires and fireworks.
To provide an effective and appropriate response to bonfire and firework related emergencies.
