Slide3:
Some animals develop characteristics that help them cope better than others of their species with their environment. This natural biological process is called adaptation. Adaptations may help in obtaining food or shelter, in providing protection, and in producing and protecting offspring.
Many animals have adaptations that help them elude their predators. Some insects are camouflaged by their body color or shape, and many resemble a leaf or a twig. The coats of deer are colored to blend with the surroundings.
This presentation will discuss some of the adaptations which animals adopt in order to survive.
