This is undeniably what he is to me, an inspiration, a reality, that dreams come true, it is out there, waiting to be conquered if I JUST DO IT and CARPE DIEM. Thank you Nike and Kobe DRIVEN & PASSIONATE, Mark Francis M. Ilagan La Salle Greenhills 4 th Year Student But following Kobe Bryant’s life in and outside of the court, I realized, partly my impression is true, and partly not so, because what Kobe is doing entails a great deal of efforts and sacrifices. He had faced several injuries physically and emotionally, made painful mistakes, nonetheless, he endured criticisms, survived public scrutiny, rose above and learned from his mistakes. Most importantly, and the one that inspires me the most is that he continues to learn and develop his skills and use his God-given gifts and talents to go and conquer his dreams in spite of difficulties, he shares his blessings to many people especially to the youths to achieve the peak of their potential. Being a student and a basketball varsity player, I balance my time and I focus on both with equal determination, discipline and assiduity. My grades are pretty outstanding, I even find some free time to coach my classmates in Math, and in the court, I train hard, come rain or shine, I practice my own techniques while keeping ablaze in mind Kobe’s move and strategies. Being a son and an elder brother to my one and only sibling, Clare, I pour my care, obedience and dedication to my family who is very supportive in all my goals, in deeds and prayers. Kobe might not, of course, be aware but he is a positive influence in my life. When I was a little kid, I thought basketball players have the best job in the world because they are famous and rich and they get to do what they like most – playing basketball. All of these plus his character and strong will made him achieve the 81 points, the all-time Southeastern Pennsylvania’s leading scorer of 2,883 points surpassing even that of Wilt Chamberlain’s and Lionel Simmons’, and numerous NBA top awards, which are quite many to mention here. Words are not enough to describe how great he is, I can even feel that proving he is the best is pointless, because HE SIMPLY IS THE BEST AMONG THE REST. KOBE BRYANT is a great motivating force in my life. Being his loyal fan, I always watch everything KOBE. They call me “IMBA” because my friends can not defeat me and Kobe in PS3 , I save my school allowance to be able to buy some of the things that Kobe endorse. I remember the 1 st time I saw him on TV, I was 5 years old. The way he runs in the court, he signals his teammates, he holds the ball, it caught all my attention and captured every beat of my heart, my eyes zeroed in on him. That was the moment I knew and believe that Kobe Bryant is the best player the NBA ever has. That great feeling of awe and admiration is still reminiscent within me and will stay with me for the rest of my life. BLACK MAMBA is indescribably amazing. He’s gifted with a strong mind to quickly weave his way through his opponent and go for the shot, and utilizes his speed, sharp mind and agility against them. He is a fully adept shooter, has exceptional ball handling skills and an outstanding defender. Dear Nike, You are worth every penny ;-) ‘Coz you’re bringing here the best… KOBE! It means so much to me ‘Coz KOBE keeps my dreams aflame Thank you for doing so, Nike! Half of my dream is coming true Other half, I’ll continue working hard for Driven with faith, skill and passion, I’ll reach my goal Hoping you give this chance to me As each word and story Is written in utmost sincerity
