5-6 June 2007, Skopje 6 Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and Individual Chambers: Legal Base and Duties Activities / Best Practices The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey is the highest legal entity in Turkey representing the private sector. 364 members in the form of local chambers of commerce, industry, commerce and industry, maritime commerce and commodity exchanges.

5-6 June 2007, Skopje 7 Legal Base: Law No. 5174 (Law on the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, Chambers and Commodity Exchanges), TOBB and Chambers in Turkey have duties regarding vocational training, to maintain the education and training of the qualified labour force that the industry is in need of. The duties of TOBB regarding vocational training: - to establish universities, colleges, vocational and technical education institutions; - to participate in already established ones, and cooperate with them; - to make terms of reference with the related institutions; - to promote the preparation and implementation of curriculum in line with these terms of reference; -to guide the implementations so that the apprenticeship and vocational training services provided by the chambers are carried out in a coherently, -to prepare in-service training programmes for the administrators and the personnel of the chambers and the commodity exchanges; for that purpose, to provide the establishment of a vocational training centre when necessary

Duties of Chambers: - With the permission and under the control of MoNE, to open courses on commerce, industry and maritime business, and support the existing ones, To get students educated in the country and abroad on required areas, and employ trainees, To carry out works to develop and orientate vocational and technical education and training, - To issue certificates on vocational areas that are not regulated in the Law on Vocational Training

Improve the physical capacities and especially the workroom equipment of the Vocational Technical Schools, Provide teachers with the possibility of participating in “in-service-training” so that they adopt to the technology of the era and improve their qualifications, Provide students with the possibility of practicing at industrial enterprises.
