Become user of portal Moja | BAŠTINA (My | HERITAGE): Become user of portal Moja | BAŠTINA (My | HERITAGE) Find link “New user” on the home page. Clicking that link opens page where you fill out registration form. (Note: portal uses pop-up windows, therefore check or set your browser to allow pop-up windows on portal Moja | BAŠTINA.)


User registration: User registration Fill in obligatory fields – user name and e-mail address. Other information is not obligatory, but they will ease your work on the portal when you make orders. Your password with username will be sent to your e-mail address. Open e-mail with password and log in on the home page using your login name and given password.


Using search engine: Using search engine You can search for persons of your interest using free search engine at the bottom of home page. If you don’t find them, you can enter in the database. This approach will ease and speed up making of your trees and books of genealogy. You can search using different criteria, depending on data you have about the person.


Adding persons: Adding persons Start with entering persons from your family. You can do that by clicking “My persons” in the menu.


Adding persons: Adding persons Enter all data you know about certain person. If you have person’s photo, you can edit it and put it on the portal by following instructions on this web page. Select “Confirm data” after entering all information. After that you’ll be able to connect this person with other persons by using lineage relations with ancestors, spouse and descendants. By doing this, you ease yourself work on family tree. You also ease work to all others who will use your persons while making their own family trees.


Person’s biography: Person’s biography When you select some person from page My persons, you can also select option to make person’s biography. A new web page opens where you edit the biography. A template is at your disposal with suggestions in form of sections with tips what to write in biography. Those sections can be edited or deleted. You can also add your own sections.


Making family tree: Making family tree When you finish with adding your persons, you can start creating your family tree. Do that by clicking option “My family trees”. A web page opens which offers making of ancestors’ and descendants’ trees. Select one of them. This page also shows list of all family trees which you make on the portal. Select creation of new family tree. A web page opens with templates for family trees, choose the one you like by clicking button “Choose”.


Making family tree: Making family tree After selecting a template, a web page opens with basic tree’s data. Since you haven’t selected central person for the tree yet, question mark appears instead of main person’s image. Click on “View / change family tree” to make your tree.


Making family tree: Making family tree A new window opens where you will make your family tree. If you are just starting with making of the tree, the portal will open a window where it will offer selecting a person from which you wish the tree to branch. Find your person using the search engine in that window and select him/her.


Making family tree: Making family tree If you connected persons when you were adding them to the portal’s database, the portal will automatically create whole family tree for you. This way working on the portal is faster and easier because you don’t have to search for every person individually. If you haven’t set up lineage relationships while adding information about a person, you can add every person individually on the family tree. Clicking a person on the family tree brings up menu which can be used to manage person in that tree.


Editing of created tree: Editing of created tree You’ve created your family tree. If you are not satisfied with selected template, you can select another one by clicking on icon for family trees’ templates. Press button “View family tree as printed” to see it as it would be printed. You can also set your background image instead of the one from the template. You can change direction of tree’s development depending on whether you would like the tree to develop vertically or horizontally. Examples of tree development directions follow.

Quality of images is highest when ordering tree to be printed.

Making your own book of genealogy from family tree: Making your own book of genealogy from family tree Book with all yours persons from a tree is made by clicking on My family trees web page once on the icon for making book from selected tree. You can include biographies of persons whom you or some other user has added. Select one of templates for the book. If you click on template’s image, a demo PDF of a book will open as an example how your book can look like using that template.


Content of your family book, book of genealogy, book about your native land...: Content of your family book, book of genealogy, book about your native land... Enter book’s title and dedication text. Click on icon for changing template if you wish to change template used to make your book. Clicking “View cover as printer” or “View book’s inside as printer” generates PDF file in which you see how your book will look like when printed. You can add your chapters with subchapters and add additional family trees. There is a very important option of selecting ready-made additional contents for your book which will visually and meaningfully enrich your book. At the end, you need to write for the last page of the book something about the author and the book and your book is ready to be printed.


How to add chapters to a book?: How to add chapters to a book? New chapters are added by simply clicking link “Add new chapter” or “Add new subchapter”. A window opens where you enter chapter’s title. Then after confirming data click on “Insert section” and you’ll be offered what kind of section you’d like to insert. Insert section’s text and/or images in new window. After closing window for section editing, the chapter’s window stays open where you can see overview of that chapter with created sections.


Enriching book with ready-made additional contents: Enriching book with ready-made additional contents What are ready-made additional contents? Ready-made contents are contents which are prepared in advanced by portal Moja | BAŠTINA and they serve to enrich your family book, book of genealogy, book about your native land... For example: national costume of your ancestor’s birth place, customs, old postcards, photos, ethnographic details... When you select adding additional contents a web page opens where portal tries to offer you some of the ready-made additional contents it thinks to be most interesting for you. To view more additional contents click on “All ready-made additional contents”. Ready-made additional contents are grouped by themes and types (for example: photos, national costumes, etc.). Select the type you are interested in. A list of offered contents with that theme opens. Clicking on content’s title opens overview of that content, and clicking on icon for adding content, you are inserting it to your book.


Viewing your book as printed: Viewing your book as printed On the page for book editing you can get overview of your book as it will look like printed.

BOOK PRINTING. We take even orders for printing just one copy of a book (unique copy). You can choose from several kinds of print.
