Frequently Asked Questions Q: My student will be living on-campus, which meal plan should they get? It depends on their eating habits and academic and social schedule. If they eat multiple times throughout the day, the Unlimited Plan would be their best option. If they eat at traditional time periods (breakfast/lunch/dinner), the Weekly Meal Plans would be their best option. If they tend to skip meals, the Block Meal Plans would be their best option. Q: Which meal plan is the most popular? Last year, for on-campus students it was the 14 Meal Plan. For the off-campus students it was the Block 25 and Block 50. Q: For the Weekly Plans, do the unused meals roll over to the next week? No. The Weekly Plans re-set every Monday morning. Q: Can we buy more Flex Points? No. Flex Points come bundled in the Meal Plan. You can add to your Monarch Plus account.

Questions Continued. . . Q: Can they only use their meals during certain time periods? Weekly Plans – they can only swipe once per meal period. If they return during the same meal period they will have to pay with Flex Points or Monarch Plus. Block Plans – their cards can be swiped multiple times during a meal period deducting a meal each time. During snack periods, only the Unlimited Plan allows you to swipe meals. If you have a Weekly or Block Plan, then you must use your Flex Points or Monarch Plus during that time. The Unlimited Plan is the only plan that allows you to swipe for meals at any time during operating hours at the residential dining facilities. Q: What are the meal periods? Questions Continued. . . Q: Is the Monarch Plus or Meal Plan on a different card? NO. Everything you need is on the ODU ID card. This card will contain your meal plan, Monarch Plus account, door access, etc. (if necessary). ONE CARD FOR EVERYTHING! Q: What happens if the ID card is lost? Contact the Card Center or Public Safety IMMEDIATELY. The card will be marked as inactive. If you find the card, we can reactivate it. If not, you can get a replacement card for $15 and the old card will no longer work. You will have the same values on the new card that were on the old card. Q: Can we check the balance online? COMING SOON. We are currently upgrading our system so the card holder can log into our website and mark the card lost, check the remaining balance and even view/print the transaction log. Q: Can the parents receive information regarding the card activity? Yes, if the student completes a form in the Card Center giving us permission to release information to the parents. If checking online, you will need to get the password from the student.

Questions Continued. . . Q: What do I need to park on campus? You must have a parking decal/pass to park on campus. Q: Where can I get a parking decal/pass? Visit the Parking Services office located in the Parking Garage on 43rd and Elkhorn. Online services coming soon! Q: What do I need to get a parking decal? University ID card or UIN, license plate number, completed registration form, and method of payment. Q: What methods of payment do you accept? Cash, check, money order, Monarch Plus, MasterCard and Visa. Q: Where can I park once I have my decal? In designated parking lots and garages. (See Parking Brochure).
