ADSL Trial – Current Status: 

ADSL Trial – Current Status Trial is coming to an end in November 2002 Many requests received for continuation Interest also received by non-participating JANET organisations

Trial Evaluation: 

Trial Evaluation Successful trial Positive feedback from the trial sites Requirement expressed from the community for a JANET ADSL Service Concern Areas: Limited to Off Campus Learning Centres Procedures for connections, disconnection & fault handling is complex and time consuming Customer support structure in place is not scalable for a full ADSL service.

What about the ADSL Trial ? Trial due to end in November 2002 but………….. UKERNA will fund the trial sites for a further 6 Months (till April 2003)

Beyond the ADSL Trial Extension Options Available to Sites: Cancel Connection – Site to make own arrangements for network connectivity Migrate to a commercial ISP Continue with the same service and site pays the charges involved NOTE: Any costs incurred will be payable by the site.
