LTD. 105,PHASE IV, UDYOG VIHAR GURGAON-122 015, HARYANA Slide2: People no longer ready to accept limits or outdated technology. High Spatial Resolution Satellites in constellation IRS-1C, IRS-1D, IRS-P3. Sp. Res. 23.25/5.8 meters on PAN Chromatic. IRS-1C, IRS-1D, IRS-P3 is by far the best Constellation in orbit (in civilian sector) after the early failure of EARLYBIRD-1 (of Earthwatch Incorp. & Hitachi) having a Sp. Res. 3 meters. Our data being downloaded at USA, Germany, Dubai, Japan, Korea and Thailand. New Earth Stations for downloading IRS data coming up in near future in Saudi Arabia, Equador , Australia and few other countries in Europe and Latin America. Coming years will see some high end sensors from ISRO like IRS-P4 (OCEANSAT), IRS-P5 (CARTOSAT) & IRS-P6 (RESOURCESAT). This will bring a seachange in current Geomatic Applications. Slide3: GROWTH RATE OF REMOTE SENSING & GIS SERVICES Since the introduction of LANDSAT Series in early 1970’s the opportunities and applications in Remote Sensing & GIS has grown manifold in the last 25 years. Use of technology is catching up amongst Decision makers in various Govt. & Non-Govt. organisations. Pilot projects already started for Urban Planning in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Lucknow, Ahmedabad & Jaipur. Union Govt. has announced Rs. 30,000 crores investment in next five years for building National Highways. Ministry of Rural & Employment has allocated Rs. 3200 crores for updating Cadastral Maps at village level under 9th plan period. 30 lakhs maps & 168 million Households to be mapped and updated in above project. Facility Management (FM) is estimated to grow by 50% each year from its present Rs. 400 crore per annum. India registered a growth rate of 44% last year and for next FIVE YEARS a growth rate of 35% is projected against world average of 30%. Slide4: VALUE ADDED SERVICES : PRESENT & FUTURE TRENDS Value added services in Remote Sensing & GIS has grown to new emerging sectors from NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT & TARGETTING to : AUTOMATED MAPPING /FACILITY MANAGEMENT (AM/FM) RAPID MASS SYSTEM/EXPRESS HIGHWAYS GPS FOR LAND & RESOURCE SURVEYS/VEHICLE TRACKING AND NAVIGATIONAL TOOLS. INSURANCE SECTOR REAL ESTATE MARKET PLANNING FOR CONSUMER DURABLES TELECOM SECTORS OIL & GAS PIPELINES DISTRIBUTION NETWORKING (ELECTRICITY/WATER SUPPLY) DISASTER MANAGEMENT (OIL/CHEMICAL SPILLS, GROUND WATER CONTAMINATION, FOREST FIRES, ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD BESIDES NATURAL DISASTERS) UTILITIES PLANNING & MANAGEMENT OF AGRO-FORESTRY & AGRO HORTICULTURE Slide5: Prime activity of majority of vendors is Vectorisation of theme maps & creation of geo databases, which is the backbone of any project. Our per unit/per capita infrastructural cost is nearly 1/7th when compared with western world. With the availability of large infrastructural facilities, high quality/low cost manpower in India, this is a single largest target area. Huge data conversion opportunities available in Western region. Our Unique Selling Point (USP) High Quality/Low Cost/Timely Turnover. CREATION OF GEODATABASE CADASTRAL MAP OF 24 PARGANA DISTRICT, WEST BENGALSlide6: AUTOMATED MAPPING / FACILITY MANAGEMENT Other key sector for Value Added Ddata Products (VADP’s). Present turnover of around Rs. 400 crore per annum. Projected growth upto 250% (upto Rs. 1000 crore) in next 3 years. Facility management (FM) Support Plan Update Display of civic facilities Slide7: DIGITAL TERRAIN MODEL DIGITAL ELEVATION MODELSlide8: CADASTRAL LEVEL MAPPING / VILLAGE LEVEL GIS Our existing cadastral maps dates back to 80-90 years. Prepared for assessing revenues on the basis of land parcel area, quality of land and output generated. Urgent need to validate and prepare new sets of Cadastral maps for updation of many cultural features due to rapid industrialisation. For microlevel planning : GPS controlled RS/AP based 1:2000 to 1:4000 cadastral maps. Uplinking of Socio-Economic data base with each land parcel.Slide9: VILLAGE LEVEL GIS For microlevel planning/management (following data should be integrated) Ground Infirmation Area Roads/Tracks/Foot paths Water bodies (dry/perennial) Habitations Power/Telecom lines Vegetation Topographical feature Canal Landuse Agricultural (Irrigated/Non-irrigated) Forest covered Fallow land Wasteland Population (socio-economic) Water (Drinking/Irrigation) Infrastructural/Health/Education facilities Recreational centres Parks Sports ground Police Stations Schools Primary health centres VADP – Detailed hard & soft copy in the term of Utility Map per Village Slide10: GPS BASED LAND SURVEYS GPS has emerged as a very essential, simple and effective tool for Land survey, parcel (cadastral) apart from excellent navigational tool. US Govt./Defence deptt. Controlled constellation of 24 high orbitting (more than 20,000 kms.) satellites (21 satellites for data + 3 for backup) 24 hours, 3D coverage of entire world Tremendous Scope for Land Surveys Immediate target sector for VALUE ADDITION INDUSTRY GPS Types Code Based - easy to use, mobile extensively used for thematic/resource mapping. Post processing required. Carrier Phase – Very accurate (upto Sub cm) phase differential. No post processing required in Real Time GPS (DASSAULT SERCEL). Slide11: Pan India pioneering the use of very high end Differential GPS (Dassault Sercel) both in Marine/Land Surveys. GPS Land Surveys for Urban/Rural/Cadastral clusters stepds involved GPS positioning translations to features/real time Creating of data dictionary Collecting attribute information Data capture (with simulation) Online processing Transmission to Base station Differential corections (if required) Output to a GIS application Genaration of interactive map APPLICATIONS Natural Resource Management/Targetting Mining, Oil & Natural Gas, GW drilling Vehicle Navigation Tool Precision Agriculture Facility Management Public Safety Land Survey Slide12: VALUE ADDED REMOTE SENSING PRODUCTS (VARSEP’S) At the turn of 21st century, we are entering into an era of IT, total ‘transparency’, communications’ & ‘information’. In coming years, several very high Spatial Resolutio (1m or even less) Revolutionise the applications in coming years With 1m. Sp. Res. , 2 meter horizontal accuracy, possible in coming years. Maps upto 1:24,000 scale possible without Ground Control Maps upto 1:24,00 scale possible with Ground Control from IKONOS Space Imaging’s – IKONOS Earth Watch;s – QUICKBIRD Orbimage’s – ORBVIEW ISRO’s - CARTOSATSlide13: APPLICATIONS OF HIGH END VARSEP’S INSURANCE SECTOR DETECTION OF ENCROACHMENTS IN GOVT.
