29 Positive Attitude & Workplace In the workplace, having a positive work attitude is just as important as having the necessary skills and knowledge to be effective on the job. This is also one attribute that employers look for in their workers.

Positive Attitude & Workplace :

30 Positive Attitude & Workplace In order to become more successful in your professional life, you must always have a good outlook towards work and the place where you work. Below are steps that will help one develop positive mental and work attitude and also help you succeed in your job and boost your productivity.

Steps to Developing a Positive Mental & Work Attitude :

31 Steps to Developing a Positive Mental & Work Attitude Think Positive Develop Can Do attitude Do not Complain Keep Positive thinking friends Be appreciative Control your frustration Live in the present

Step 1 :

32 Step 1 Think Positive Most times we think negatively and it has been discovered that almost 80% of what the average person takes in is negative. A number of factors such as person’s upbringing, personal foundation and work environment are responsible for these negative thoughts, choices and actions.

Step 1 contd :

33 Step 1 contd We however do not need to be a disgruntled, distracted, uninterested staff. We have to reprogram our inner thoughts in order to change our choices and actions positively.

Step 2 :

34 Step 2 Develop Can Do attitude We are bound to face some form of setbacks and failures in our workplace. As in every job, not everything is perfect or goes well. When you are faced with setbacks, develop “Can Do” attitude. Always figure out ways of solving any problem at hand.

Step 3 :

35 Step 3 Do not Complain Complaining is a common ‘disease’ in the workplace. Most time, when two or more workers get together, the possible topic would be complaining about something. Complaining is a bad habit and can be detrimental to your career success. When you complain, nothing positive comes out of it. You are merely voicing your dissatisfaction.

Step 4 :

36 Step 4 Keep Positive thinking Friends Associate with positive people. Your level of success has been proven to be strongly correlated with the people you associate with. If you mix with people with a negative attitude and low levels of success in life, that's where you'll end up. If you mix with successful people with positive, supportive mental attitudes, you'll join them.

Step 5 :

37 Step 5 Be Appreciative Look for the good in your coworkers and your workplace. Acknowledge a job well done. One way of doing this is to give Staff of the Month Award or a Most Valuable Player Award monthly. Thank coworkers for the work they do that makes your job easier.

Step 6 :

38 Step 6 Control your Frustration We don't have control over circumstances, but we do have control of how we perceive them. Moods are contagious, both positive and negative. Whenever you feel frustrated, do something that will place you in a positive mood-

Step 7 :

39 Step 7 Live in the Present Encourage people to live in the "now." Dwell on the past only long enough to figure out what you want to learn from it, and then move on. Stop talking about "the good old days." What is important is what is going on right now. Give your fullest attention to exactly what you are doing now.

5 Habits of Maintaining a Positive Mental Attitude :
