Section A begins moving at 5:30 pmParade Route cont’d: Parade Route cont’d Judges and Rogers Television- DO NOT STOP. You must maintain flow or big problems. At the end of the route- Do not have your rides waiting at Victoria Park. Choose a side street or location a couple of blocks away. The Parade must be able to exit or a bottleneck occurs. Please continue and clear the path for the entry behind you. Marshals ensure this occurs. Do not throw Candy from the float- You must distribute by hand to the crowd Vendors- Do not patronize any vendor that is without a Donator badge. Marshalls report any vendors that have not donated and we will send someone to collect. Float Entries: Float Entries Your float must be decorated. Remember a Flash Light Dress warm Bring Hot drinks for your volunteers Advise all your members to arrive early. Traffic will hamper their arrival. Advise Members to ask Section marshals for help if they are concerned. They can be found at the entrance to the 5 streets. We often have different alias’s given by people seeking an entry. Advise your volunteers of the assigned letter and number. Please respect the Bands and Musical Floats by not honking horns Garbage has been a problem – please bring a garbage bag for your float and keep the streets clean, thanks! SmileInsertions: Insertions There will be banner and Band Insertions at the intersection of Second Ave and Colborne. Maintain a set distance Drivers of regular floats: beware that you may be stopped at Second Ave & Colborne to allow bands or banners to be inserted Maintain a set distance – pace is vital to the flow of the parade Marshals will advise you if you are going too slow or too fastAwards: Awards There will be awards for the following Best Theme, Best School (Elementary/High), Best School (Post Secondary), Best Service Club, Best Overall, Most Enthusiastic and Most Original. A press release will be issued following the Parade and you will be contacted to attend and receive your award at our January meeting.Rogers Television Coverage: Rogers Television Coverage Please do not SPEED UP to the television cameras Your entry should go by slowly and smoothly through television area. Do NOT stop to be judged or seen on television, everyone gets a fair share this way Make sure Syd has your commentary Broadcast live the evening of, re-broadcast December 9th at 2pm, December 10th at 10am, December 16th at 3pm and December 17 at 8pm.Post Parade Party: Post Parade Party There is a party following the Parade at Moose Winooski’s on King George Road. Volunteers who directly help out with the parade are entitled to food and drink tickets: family members and other friends are welcome to join but we are unable to feed everyone. You are welcome to buy food & drinks on your own. Thank you for understanding! Award Winners will be announced between 9:00 pm and 9:30 pm Buses and Transportation: Buses and Transportation Sharp Bus Lines is providing two buses that will constantly travel from Victoria Park to the McDonalds Parking lot and back throughout the parade. Feel free to hop on a bus to get to your vehicles after. Emergencies: Emergencies In case of medical emergency- call 911 or contact the Marshall closest. The Marshals have an emergency plan. We have Brant County Ambulance and St. Johns Ambulance in the Parade Do not move anyone if they fall. Keep warm and wait for the experts Follow the Marshals instructions If an incident of any type occurs please report to the closest Marshal.
