Pearl Harbour was the main U.S. Naval base for the Pacific. if the fleet at Pearl Harbour could be destroyed, the U.S.A. would not be able to stop Japan’s plans.On 7th December 1941, Japan attacked Pearl Harbour.: On 7th December 1941, Japan attacked Pearl Harbour.Slide5: The Navy had received no warning…… …….the devastation was huge……...Slide6: …many ships were lost….Slide7: …and many, many men died.Slide8: 2,402 Americans were killed in the attack. Over 1,000 more were seriously injured. The attack lasted less than two hours.The USS Arizona suffered the greatest losses.
