Conclusion There’s always exceptions to the rule, and some of my favorite movies involve inspiring teachers, and loving parents. But the general rule in Hollywood is that young peoples lives are more entertaining when they’re rough. Adult’s are getting in the way, responsibility is overrated, their peers are all horrible people, and they should only care about themselves. In the end, there’s almost always at least a little hope for the future, but the kids are hoping to get out of school, not to do well in it. The idea is incredibly prevalent that school and the world as a whole is working against young people, and that life is hard for young Americans, when it’s actually pretty wonderful. I’m studying to be a teacher, and I hope when I become one I still remember what it’s like growing up and thinking the world’s out to get you.
