Slide 2:Basics of Islam Islam, comes from an Arabic word meaning "peace" and "submission.” Islam teaches that one can only find peace in life by submitting to Almighty God (Allah) in heart and soul. When Muslims greet they say “As Salaam o alaykum," ("Peace be with you"), the universal Muslim greeting. Muslims Believe in one god Allah and the prophet Mohammed ( SAW ) PUBH is the messenger of god Islam is not only a religion but a complete way of life

J The Five Pillars of Islam Firm Foundations 1. Declaration of Faith (Shahaadah)
Fundamental to a Muslim's life is the declaration of faith (shahaadah). "There is no god but Allah, and Mohammed is the messenger of Allah." 3. Charity ( Zakat )
Muslims give a small percentage of their annual savings as charity for the poor 2. Prayer ( Salat )
Muslims pray at least five times a day. 4. Fasting ( Swaam )
Muslims around the world anticipate the arrival of the holiest month of the year. During Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, Muslims from all continents unite in a period of fasting and spiritual reflection. 5. HOLY PILGRAMAGE ( Hajj )
Every year, millions of Muslims from around the world make the journey to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, for the annual pilgrimage (or Hajj). Dressed in the same simple white clothing to represent human equality, the pilgrims gather to perform rites dating back to the time of Abraham.

The Hajj :The Hajj Hajj is the holy pilgrimage to Makkah
It is required once in a lifetime for those who have the means (physical and financial)
Every year more than 2.5 million Muslims perform this pilgrimage
Once you have completed Hajj its is like being reborn all your sins are forgiven
Quran ( The Holy Book ) :Quran ( The Holy Book ) The Quran was revealed over a period of about 23 years. The Prophet Mohammed received the first revelation Through the Angel Gibrel , in the Cave of Hira in the Mountain of Light (Jabale-Noor)
The Quran Has remained unchanged from the first day.
The Quran is not only a book it is the word of Allah ( God ) .The Qur'an comprehends the complete code for the Muslims to live a good and rewarding life in obedience to the commandments of Allah
The Quran may not be handled or read unless one has completed Wuzu
abolution first.

Slide 13:Muslim Diet HALAL MEAT : Muslims may only eat halal meat this is an animal that has been slaughtered observing Islamic methods.
Any Mind altering products such as Alcohol and any addictions such as drugs are strictly forbidden in Islam.

Slide 14:Muslim Dress For a male it is compulsory to be covered from the navel to below the knees For a female it is compulsory to be coved from head to ankles the face and hands may be shown
Many Muslim women will not shake hands with any male other than her husband

The leader of the pray is called an Imaam
Before entering a Mosque it is mandatory shoes are removed
Remember most mosques have different areas for men and women do not interact with the opposite sex unless permission as been granted first
Try to avoid contact with the Quran unless you have completed Wuzu first
When to Visit
out of respect, you should avoid prayer times Instead, schedule your visits at times when the traffic is low and adherents are not engaged in any type of religious worship.
Avoid Pointing Your Feet at the Qibila
The Qibla (also referred to as Qiblah, Kibla or Kiblah) is a recess in the wall of each Mosque that indicates the direction in which all Muslims should face when they pray. You should never point your feet towards the Qibla. Doing so is considered deeply offensive and disrespectful The Mosque
