In 1991, the Taliban evolved as a politico-religious force in Afghanistan, numbered in hundreds. First major Taliban military activity took place in 1994, capturing Kandahar & surrounding provinces, losing only a few dozen men. Taliban's very stern & anti-modern ideology has been termed as an "innovative form of  sharia combining Pashtun tribal codes“. Taliban ideologies replaced those of mystical Sufis, traditionalists, or radical Islamicists inspired by the Ikhwan. Taliban has been termed as an anti-nationalist & Pushtun nationalist. Taliban imposed its ideology in main towns like Herat, Kabul, & Kandahar.

Latest Attack : December 16, 2014 December 16, 2014: Peshawar School Massacre Over 140 people dead, including at least 132 children. Image Courtesy: http ://img27.fansshare.com/pic134/w/barbarikon/1200/12384_pakistan_pol.jpg Seven Tehrik- i -Taliban Pakistan (TTP) conducted a terrorist attack on the Army Public School in the city of Peshawar, Pakistan. On entering the school, opened fire on school staff & children, killing 145 people, including 132 schoolchildren. Pakistani Taliban claimed that it aimed at more than 50 sons of army officers in the massacre of children at a Peshawar school . This was the deadliest terrorist attack ever to occur in Pakistan, surpassing the 2007 Karachi bombing.

Latest Attack : June 8, 2014 All Flight operations were suspended at the airport, & airport was evacuated along with deployment of Pakistan Army forces at the airport. On 10 June, a rial strikes were carried out by Pakistani security forces next to the Afghan border, during which nine militant hideouts were destroyed and about 25 militants killed. On 15 June, Pakistan Air Force fighter jets bombed eight militant hideouts in North Waziristan, killing about 105 militants  dead.
