PowerPoint Presentation:

An industrial designer is nothing new. In fact, it’s a process that was originally coined by – or that is widely credited to – Joseph Claude Sinel in 1919, according to Wikipedia.org (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_design ). During that time, however, there were numerous others working on industrial design, folks like Christopher Dresser (1907), who is also considered to be the world’s very first designer of this type. The epistemology aside, this process is one that has been in place for many generations, and one that may even have a moniker that predates the late 1800s. Today, it’s a driving force in the innovation and procurement of burgeoning technologies, integrated into classily designed and useful products that have forever changed the world for the better. But what are some of these products that you may enjoy with everyday use at the present, all, of course, credited to the creative designer that forged their very architecture?

PowerPoint Presentation:

Steve Jobs could be said to be the most famous of all designers in this regard during the present day. He is credited with designing the most intuitive and user friendly computer system ever devised, Apple computers, and related Apple products. Before his passing, he also designed the next generations of smartphones , miniature tablet computers and even MP3 playback and listening devices. Today, the iPhone , for example, is one of the most used handsets in the world, and is used to snap more pictures than any other camera phone on the market.

Bill Gates: Yet another technology master easily has to join the ranks with Mr. Jobs, Bill Gates. For yet another year, this genius has been listed as the wealthiest man in America, and for the twentieth year in a row on Forbes (source: http://www.forbes.com/sites/luisakroll/2013/09/16/inside-the-2013-forbes-400-facts-and-figures-on-americas-richest/ .) Gates is credited with designing the most powerful and widely used graphical user interface and computer operating system ever known, Microsoft Windows. He’s also credited with creating the most successful software company ever, and now has delved into creating tablets (Windows Surface), smartphones (with the acquisition of Nokia), and a number of other designs that have changed our lives forever.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Richard Branson is another person who should not be left off this top-three list. In fact, he’s the guy that nearly pioneered the contract-free cellular calling plan and the affordable smartphone . But his Virgin Mobile ventures aside, he also previously brought music to the masses with a unique change of stores that ultimately were shuddered with the advent of the digital age. Branson helped design the most comfortable way of flying by integrating designs he though should be included in every commercial airliner (Virgin Airlines). He also has helped design the first commercial space flight industry, and is currently testing new aircraft all of the time, with plans of a full launch of Virgin Galactic in the near future. His newest entity (Virgin Galactic) revolves around using aerospace design to procure a vehicle capable of entry into space and reentry into the earth’s atmosphere that can transport passengers to the outer limits for a set fee per flight. All the while, the aircraft does not rely upon standard rockets to deliver passengers to and from space.
