Internet Standards ISOC is the organisational home of the IETF ISOC provides funding for IAB RFC Editor some IESG activities ISOC holds copyrights on RFC’s

The IETF Internet Engineering Task Force Formed 1986 - 17 years ago Produces Internet Standards Standards Process open to all Standards Documents open and free of charge “rough consensus and running code”

IETF Structure (2) IESG: Internet Engineering Steering Group Area Directors, chosen by the community reviews and approves standards IAB: Internet Architectural Board provides overall architectural advise oversight function & external liaison IRTF: Internet Research Task Force works on long term issues
