What do we know about Ezekiel? a. Ezekiel means "God strengthens". He was carried away in the 2nd deportation in 597 B.C. (2 Kings 24:14-16). Daniel ministered to the kings of Babylon and Persia. Ezekiel ministered to the exiles. Ezekiel's call is found in 2:4-10. God held Ezekiel responsible for the proclamation of His Word and not its reception. d. Ezekiel was of the priestly line (1:3). He may have begun his ministry at the age of 30 (1:1). At this age a priest took up his duties (Num. 4:3). Jesus began His public ministry at the same age (Luke 3:23). Ezekiel was married. His wife died as a sign of the fall of Jerusalem (24:15-19) .

Ezekiel 3:17-21: 

Ezekiel 3:17-21 17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. 18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
