Nickname: the weeping prophet. (Jer. 9:1; 13:17; Lam. 3:48) Five kings reigned during Jeremiah's lifetime (Josiah, Jehoahaz, Jehoiakim, Jehoiachin, Zedekiah) Jeremiah predicted and saw the fall of Jerusalem. (1:11-16; 34:1ff.) He prophesied 40 - 50 years.
