JEREMIAH: 

JEREMIAH “The Weeping Prophet”

Jeremiah: The Man: 

Jeremiah: The Man Jeremiah means "Jehovah establishes". Nickname: the weeping prophet. (Jer. 9:1; 13:17; Lam. 3:48) Five kings reigned during Jeremiah's lifetime (Josiah, Jehoahaz, Jehoiakim, Jehoiachin, Zedekiah) Jeremiah predicted and saw the fall of Jerusalem. (1:11-16; 34:1ff.) He prophesied 40 - 50 years. God commanded him not to marry (16:2) nor have children as a sign to Judah.
