My downloads folder involves annoyance-ridding mods, BFBVFS-preventing hacks, some custom content (skins, for example), a multi-PT hack, and the infamous ACR+inTeen combo. If you don’t mind, click the ‘next’ button to continue. Slide 3: This is a table I’m personally going to use in order to keep track of what hobbies I need to max for the handicaps, I’ll mark it with an ‘X’ if I managed to pull that hobby before and I’ll mark it with a ‘-’ if I didn’t. The Family Hobby is going to be Cuisine (the theme of this legacy will be somewhat… traditional, shall we say?). You’re going to see nothing of this table until I tally up the score I’ve so far (whenever the next generation takes over). Made-up rules: ACR is set to low autonomy and try for baby always. The child with the highest relationship to the founder/heir before leaving for college becomes heir, in case of a tie, there will be a heirship test (non-canon, of course). Free will is going to be allowed most of the time, unless skills are required for something. The neighborhood will be played in full rotation (I’ve those playables that are created with the installing of later EPs) but I’ll not give coverage to them unless they’re relevant to the plot I’m having now. Slide 4: I really can’t remember how it started. We were a happy family living in Desiderata Valley, where mom and dad met, married and where my brother Peter and I were born. We were all happy, dad had a high-paying job as a spokesman for an important environmentalist organization and mom used to stay home and take care of us. Slide 5: My dad’s name was Glen, he used to work heavily, but whenever he was home he would spend all time possible with us, he used to call me his ‘little princess’, and we were all very happy. One day, someone decided that he wanted to build in one of the forests my father was trying to restore, and dad just disappeared, never to be seen again. Slide 6: That’s when life went in a downward spiral for my family, mother developed the habit of bringing home some of her ‘friends’ to ‘play’ in her bedroom, most of the times more than one a day. I guess she thought both Peter and I were too young to understand it, at least I was, but Peter got to suffer from it a lot more than I did. Slide 7: Peter would often lock himself in the nursery with me and entertain me until he heard mom bid farewell to the visitors, then he would go into the kitchen to grab a bottle of milk for me and some snacks for himself. I never found out about my mother’s activities until I became a child myself. Slide 8: “Mom, can you help me with my homework?” I asked every single day during the first week of first grade. “Gabby, go play. Mom’s busy right now.” She would answer me, not even taking her eyes away from the television. I tried having her help me with my homework only for one week until I understood she didn’t really care about me, or Peter for that matter. “Tell Peter to take you to the park.” She would say. “I’ve got a coworker coming over and you’d just disturb our work.” Slide 9: “I can’t keep doing this.” Gabby muttered to herself one night, she had been trying to write a journal for herself since the beginning of the semester, but hadn’t been able to begin writing because it was too much for her to take. Gabby lifter herself from the floor and made her final arrangements to go to her first final exam. Slide 10: Gabriella Kahn had first arrived to Académie le Tour six months ago, she had managed to gain some scholarships by studying hard during high school. Unfortunately, she had spent all her scholarship money in the rent of a small plot of land inside the campus. It was then that she remembered Peter. Where was he? He left off for college to Sim State University back in Desiderata Valley and never called again, he only wrote to her once, sending her money for her travel to Bern, where Academié le Tour’s main campus was located. Slide 11: Gabriella was quickly appealed by college life, during the time she lived exposed to the elements, she managed to meet all sorts of people, she had even taken an interest in Serdar Lind, a young man who only said he had ‘a tragic past’, but never elaborated on it. Slide 12: The semester flew by for Gabby, between classes, assignments and term papers; the young girl managed to find the time tutor some of her classmates for money, and soon, she had a place that she could call home for now. Ian’s note: She actually dug for stuff until she found a treasure chest, and the bed was later moved to the actual bedroom. This isn’t the legacy lot, so I assumed it was okay for her to dig. Slide 13: Serdar visited Gabby’s house quite often, he apparently felt extremely confident with her, for once he even pulled her into a hug, too close for the girl’s liking. Slide 14: Having some time off between studying and working, Gabriella decided to go Downtown to have some fun there. She made called a taxi that took her to ‘where all the cool kids hang out’, as the driver said, the Simbowl Speedy Lanes. Slide 15: A blonde young man suddenly approached her. “Hello there, sweetie. My name’s Malcom Landgraab the Fourth.” He said, shaking her hand. “I’ve never heard of you, Mr. Landgraab.” Gabby replied cruelly, pulling her hand away from the handshake. “You’re not even going to grace me with your name, are you? Or even better… your company?” Malcom said, ignoring her tone. Gabby just turned back and left the place. Slide 16: When she got back home, the phone was ringing loudly, so Gabby made her way over to it quickly. “Gabriella Kahn.” A man on the other end of the line said. “My name’s Eric Woodrow. I’m sorry for calling you without even knowing you but I… god, I don’t know how to say this… I got a letter addressed for you.” “Say what? How? What does it say?” Gabby asked. “I… I’m not sure you… err…” “Just say it! What does it say?” Gabby demanded. Slide 17: “It’s your brother… he’s dead.” Eric claimed. “What? You know this is a really bad joke.” Gabriella said angrily. “But… it’s what the letter says, it was sent by Kayleigh Kahn.” “Kayleigh… my mom.” Gabby said out loud, finally realizing what was going on. She promptly hung up on Eric and went to bed, trying to assimilate what was going on. Slide 18: The next few days Gabby skipped her classes, she felt devastated by the news that had come to her recently… how could it be? Peter was all she had. She spent all her days playing chess with herself, and all her nights asleep in bed. Gabby felt like she didn’t know what to do for the first time in her life, Peter had always been there for her after all. Slide 19: The day she finally managed to pull herself together to go to class, she received another call. “Umm… hello?” she said. “Hello again, this is Eric Woodrow, from the other day?” “Oh, Mr. Woodrow, what bad news do you have for me now?” Gabriella said with irony. “None, actually… but, I was wondering… would you like to go out right now? You know, to cheer you up?” “Yeah, right…” Gabby muttered, hanging up on Eric. Slide 20: Eric’s calls began coming up every single day after that, annoying the young woman so much that she finally gave up and decided to accept Eric’s proposal. “I’m glad you could make it, girl.” Eric said. “If I hadn’t, you would have never stopped harassing me, would’ve you?” Gabby said. “Harassing? I’m sorry girl, but you really need this.” he chuckled “Come on inside!” Eric ran inside the building, and Gabby followed close by. Slide 21: “Come on.” Eric said, pulling his companion to the bar’s karaoke machine. “Wait, I don’t know how to sing!” Gabby whispered to him as he handed her one of the microphones. The duo sang what seemed an endless amount of songs for Gabby, and against her better judgment, she had an amazing time with Eric. She gave him a firm handshake and thanked him for forcing her to have fun before she made her way back to campus. Slide 22: Back at home, she had other things to take care of, her sophomore exams were just around the corner and because of the news of her brother’s death she had completely ignored her academic studies. The fact that she felt horribly cheerful the short time she spent with Eric didn’t help her focus on the academic studies. “…Llamas, llamas, go llamas!” The university mascot would chant for what seemed to be the millionth time that day. “Go, llamas!” Gabby said, trying to clap her hands without letting go of her book. Slide 23: Despite all of the distractions, Gabriella managed to keep a 4.0 GPA. As soon as she got home, she got a call from Eric, asking if he could come over, she accepted and suddenly began getting nervous. Gabby had already made a hole in the kitchen counter by the time the doorbell rang. “Come in!” She said. Slide 24: “Hi, dear.” Eric said, embracing Gabby into a hug. “Eric, I’m so glad to see you.” the girl answered. “I know, I just came by to tell you that I felt real good after the outing we had.” He said, looking away from her. “It’s good that I wasn’t the only one…” Gabby sighed. Suddenly, an incredibly calm song began playing on Gabby’s stereo. “I love this song! Come on!” Eric exclaimed, holding her hand and pulling her nearer to the speakers. Slide 27: “I… I’m sorry about… that.” Eric claimed. “Well, I’m not.” Gabby said, beaming at him. “Are you sure?” Eric asked, confused. Slide 29: “Does that seem like an attitude of regret to you?” Gabby asked the blonde man, holding his hands. “If it is, I love it when you regret stuff, let me tell you that.” Eric answered. Slide 30: Okay, my dear reader(s), that’s it for now. I’m willing to take any kind of criticism, praises or anything in between for this chapter but do remember it’s a prologue. I have bunch of plotsy stuff planned out and I might just take a while to update, since I’m going to play everyone in the ‘hood an equal amount of time. Thanks to all the wonderful CC creators that let me abuse their content, you for reading and Gabby for letting me use her similarity for my legacy. Have a nice day! Slide 31: The outing happened like three semesters ago, dude! Slide 32: Family sim Eric Woodrow has lots of friends… she friends. Slide 33: “Gerbits, gerbits, vooo gerbits!” “Oh my, this gets old… fast!” Don’t complain, there are about 5 more college households I have yet to play.
