Beatrix Potter was a famous writer and an illustrator of the Victorian England.

Biography : 

Biography Helen Beatrix Potter was born in Kensington, England in 1866 and died in 1943 . Her parents, Ruppert William Potter and Helen Beatrix Potter, were nobles. She has got a younger brother Bertram.

She drew her first sketches at a very young age. She drew animal figures, for example bunnies, ducks and squirrels. She painted land scapes as well.

Her most famous creation is Peter Rabbit Peter Rabbit was born in a picture letter in 1893.

The Tale of Peter Rabbit was first published privately in 1901 and it was a huge success. In 1902 this story was published by Frederick Warne & Co. with 8000 copies

During 28 years, she wrote and published 22 little books, for example the Tale of Benjamin Bunny.

Thanks to her popular tales, she could buy a mansion near the Lake District, called Hill top

After she got married, she became a farmer near the Lake District She bought 15 mansions and dedicated herself to preserve the natural beauty and ecology of the Lake District She gave these fields as a present to the to the people of the Lake District

Love relationships Her first love and his first fiance was Norman Warne, the brother of Frederick Warne, the publisher of the Potter books. After the sudden death of Norman, Beatrix moved to the Lake District
