Old Dog Learns New Trick!:
Old Dog Learns New Trick! Old dogs have been reported to learn new tricks in an article presented in Naturethis week
The dogs were traind for a number of years prior to this discovery in specialy designed kennels. Not all dogs had the capacity for imprved learning with age, but most did.
This lends support to the fact that you ar never to late to learn…..if you’re a dog!
Could this be true for humans too? Recent research has shown that the older you get, the less able you are to cope with chang – does this mean that we are less likly to learn as we age?
Methods:
Methods Dogs were trained to perform new tricks
Others were not trained
The two sets of dogs were compared in their abilities to perform novel tricks
Data were collected over 4 years
