AB/CO Infrastructure surveillance:

AB/CO Infrastructure surveillance The CYAN Jaguar project Slides by Pierre Charrue for AB/CO Technical Committee of 14th August 2003, updated 17th September 2003 by Alastair Bland

Some surveillance principles:

Some surveillance principles We want to monitor and control what happens in our distributed and heterogeneous controls infrastructure. One agent in every host (e.g. clic) monitors multiple parameters (system and specific) and reports it at regular intervals A central entity (e.g Clogger) gathers all these state reports and issue alarms if needed. Finally a GUI tool (e.g. Xcluc) allows for visualization of these states and also offers means for remote debug and control.

Cyan Jaguar project Theory:

Cyan Jaguar project Theory Review the clic/SysReporter/Clogger/Xcluc chain to make use of modern and supported technologies. Be prepared for a future general deployment for all the AB controls infrastructure. First plans were to : Modify clic to send data to the old sysReporter as well as to the LASER middle tier Xcluc GUI redone in Java using GP/NetBeans

Cyan Jaguar project Theory:

Immediate Future Plans:

Immediate Future Plans NetBeans : With the AP section, incorporate the JAVA-SWING code into a NetBeans module + use the CMW-MOM NetBeans module that is now working + build/deploy using the AP section methods. GUI : Implement ssh terminal emulator and more action buttons CLIC : deploy the “dual-clic” on the SPS hosts All this will be done before Christian’s departure (End October 2003)

Future Future plans:

Future Future plans When SLAPI, CLAPI and LASER services are available, use them Deploy “dual-clic” in all the AB controls infrastructure Think of more homogenization in the AB/CO group on that subject…

Remerciements:

Remerciements Thanks to : Christian Eitner for his nice work Pierre Charrue for his support and slides! Niall Stapley and Francesco Calderini for the SonicMQ support AB/CO/AP section for the promises ;-) AB/CO Alarm team for the discussions
