Blackboard Basics: Logging In

Logging In: 

Logging In Via the Thiel College home page http://courses.thiel.edu/

Logging In: 

Logging In Click Login Type in your username and password Password and Username will be your Thiel ID# is the default Login is case sensitive

Logging In: 

Logging In Select Change Password Enter a new password You will receive confirmation that your password has been updated

Logging In What if I forgot my password? Enter the Blackboard Login page Click “Forgot password?”

Logging In Enter either your username OR Enter your Thiel e-mail address Upon submission a link will be sent to you to change your information

What if I Can’t Log in?: 

What if I Can’t Log in? Check the CAPS LOCK Reset your password If you still can’t access Blackboard, contact the IT Help Desk.

Take a Minute… Log in to Blackboard Change your password Make sure all of your courses are there

Assignments & Quizzes Click the links underneath “Courses in which your are enrolled” Dark links represent Courses Lighter links are Announcements within the course

Assignments & Quizzes Your instructor will place your assignments, information, etc. in one of these categories on the left. Note: At times the buttons will be named something different.

Assignments & Quizzes The content in each category will appear to the right.

Assignments & Quizzes Assignments Assignment Name Instructions Assignment Files – attachments that are related to the assignment (Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, etc.)

Assignments & Quizzes Assignments Comments – Enter any questions that you have about the assignment At times instructors will make comments mandatory before submitting the assignment

Assignments & Quizzes Assignments Attach Local File – attach your homework (Essays, full-blown papers, etc.) Currently Attached File – View files that you already attached

Assignments & Quizzes: 

Assignments & Quizzes Assignments Save – Save your work until you’re ready to submit Submit your work when you are done Once submitted, you cannot redo the assignment

Assignments & Quizzes Assignments View your assignment comments and attachments If graded, view your points received and any feedback from the instructor.

Assignments & Quizzes Quizzes Click on the link to access the test (assessment) Select Ok to enter Click on your response. Be sure to save your responses. Submit

Assignments & Quizzes Quizzes Upon completion, you will see a confirmation page Click on ok to view various types of feedback (points received, status, your responses, and/or the correct answers)

Your Grades Return to your opening page by clicking the Thiel Online Learning tab at the top of your screen Click View Grades in the tools area

Your Grades Select the course Your assignments will appear on the left and your grades on the right.

Your Grades Click on the score link to view statistics and additional information about the assignment

E-mail: 

E-mail Return to your opening page Select Send E-mail from the Tools area

E-mail: 

E-mail Select the course in which you want to send the e-mail Click the receiver All users - everyone enrolled in your course All Instructor users - your course instructor(s) Select Users – a list of those enrolled in the course

E-mail: 

E-mail Subject – the topic of the e-mail Message – type your e-mail here A copy of this e-mail will be sent to you Attachments – you may send attachments also Submit

About E-mail: 

About E-mail 20 receivers is your limit You cannot send to anyone outside of your courses You do not have an e-mail account through Blackboard; everything is received automatically to your Thiel mail
