Interesting Facts:

Interesting Facts The koalas eat their food at night time. A koala will never drink again after it leaves it’ mother’s pouch. It gets all the liquid it needs from their leaves. There are more than 600 kinds of eucalyptus leaves, but koalas only eat about 20 kinds of them. Koalas eat over about one pound of leaves each day. Before a koala eats a leave, they carefully check it and smell it. Koalas speak to each other with grunts and soft clicking, squeaking and humming sounds. While a koala isn’t eating, its probably sleeping. Koalas don’t get down from trees very often, so they won’t get hurt by other animals. Koalas live up to twelve years. Koalas may look like bears, but they really aren’t.. They are part of the marsupial family. The koala does not have a tail. The koala is warm-blooded. Male koalas have a special area on their chest that leaves a scent. They rub their chest on their “home tree” to leave the scent and mark their tree as their own. Each of a koalas hand has two thumbs.
