What are Reptiles: 

What are Reptiles Reptiles are tetrapods and amniotes, animals whose embryos are surrounded by an amniotic membrane, and members of the class Sauropsida. Crocodilia (crocodiles, caimans, and alligators) 23 species Sphenodontia (tautaras from New Zealand) 2 species Squamata (Lizards, Snakes, Amphisbaenids (worm lizards)) approx. 7900 species Testudines (turtles) approx. 300 species

Facts of Reptiles: 

Facts of Reptiles Reptiles kill large number of insects and small rodents Reptiles share certain fundamental characteristics, features they retain from the time when reptiles replaced amphibians as the dominant terrestrial vertebrates Like their dinosaur ancestors, modern reptiles have a brain that is small in relation to their body. Such as the alligator being about 8ft only has a brain the size of a walnut.

As can be seen a Texas Horned Toad is using it’s skin color to blend to it’s surroundings, CAMOUFLAGING in other words, which is an important trait for reptiles because it is what they use for PROTECTION and to HUNT.:
